Nissan Fuga 450 at Pukekohe Park Raceway on 24th August 2019

The video is actually pretty boring for the most part as I start 4th, and past the 3 cars that started before me on the first lap. Lapping them again is where I get into trouble The dark green arrow is my fastest lap, the light green arrow is the current lap in comparison. This is pretty much at the limit of what I can do with the stock suspension and the tyres, my tyres are Yokahoma Decibels which are designed for quiet and comfort. My son in his G35 running Nexen Sur4 tyres can come over the hill onto the front straight at 160+ kph, basically 20k faster without squealing tyres, where at 140kph mine are squealing and the car is drifting towards that grass.
The scratching sound on the corners approaching the pit straight are the tyres rubbing as the front suspense reaches the end of its travel. I was pretty happy to see lap time as I had been getting a faster each session of the day, 1 min 29 then 1 min 27 then this session.
Then towards the end I try to take myself and an AMG Mercedes out (having just passed it for the second time). The go-pro stabilization of the video makes it look tamer than it was.
When they braked for the corner I thought they were slowing down to let me pass, but they were just doing their thing and probably didn't even know I was there so as I went wide I started drifting to the grass and once the wheels were off the track that was it. In the 23 days leading up to this day it had rained in Auckland on every single one of them, that grass was slippy.
Coming back on track, it might not be obvious but heading towards the wall and the curb I actually made the choice to put the wheels on either side of the curb. I had almost gone off there last year when I cut a bit close and put a tire on the grass just before the curb, it nearly bounced me into the wall on the other side.
So this time I decide the car was barely coming right and hitting that curb again was going to be real bad, besides I had had a sump guard fitted a few weeks ago. It was banging off the curb but it did its job.
It's probably obvious from the video that I scared myself, and then crossed the line, green lights flashing for the cool down lap. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

Loved it...its what racing is all about. Are you allowed to drop weight off of the car? And what modifications are you allowed?
Also this car can beat a stock r32gtr round a track, mind you, thats a 10+ year old car and nissans fastest at the time. Go Fuga!

🤙beautiful mate, these cars are real beast. I got 2 of em, best cars I've owned and I've had a few different ones. I got the 05 and 07 450. This video makes me wanna take my 07 450GT there, my car sounds similar to yours got custom RPS exhaust
What are they like to drive and are they reliable as well? They are pretty fast from what I've heard too.

yeah, I really thought that AMG was slowing down to let me pass because I could not understand why anyone would be braking for that corner, we were only doing 120ish kph. but they weren't and I had to go wide to avoid them and put the outside wheels on the grass, and nearly needed a change of undies :)
I'd love one of these cars, it would sure be a step up from my 1995 Nissan cefiro😂😂😂

@@astletruscott6291 guess what I did, I upgraded my 1995 A32 cefiro to a 2003 Maxima. Now I know what it feels like to be a retired man in the early 2000's that wanted a practical (but powerful) full size 3 litre sedan😃😂

You did a great job with some mighty nice lines on the track. Have you beefed up the brakes at all? I've heard quite a few take their Fugas on the track and the brakes at stock are the biggest downfall. I have an older 350GT myself that I hope to get out on track here (Ruapuna in Christchurch) sometime within the next 6 months.
Hi, not yet for the brakes, but it's on the todo list. But Fuga's are heavy, 1800kg, so I replaced all the fluid with a higher temp fluid, adn used EBC Yellow Stuff brake pads. They are awesome compared to the standard pads, they don't make much noise, but are very dusty (despite the web page saying they are not). Stopping power is noticeably improved and the only drawback is that when cold they are about the same as the stock pads, so for the first 4 or 5 stops of the trip they perform like normal and then just get better as they heat up. www.ebcbrakes.co.nz/yellow-stuff

FourFifty Fuga Finally got to have a good look at yours and your son's laps. Very cool. You can tell they are geared differently. You seem to catch up in the turns and he has legs past about 130?? I'm itching to get mine on a track and have a few laps now hehehe Thanks for sharing these videos!
@@CliffHairston Do you mean the other video on this channel with me chasing him? Stock Fuga 450 has a 3:13 to 1 Final drive, the JDM G35 is 3.357 to 1, and he had some real shitty budget tires on that day.
