    Awesome, thanks for the video! Btw, I believe 12:18 is a king/queen fork as well! You don't need to exchange queens.

      I'd recommend researching the Alapin, you get a very nice centre with the same tactics with na3

    • @spinnysponk778
      @spinnysponk778 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maxhenderson1890 the problem with the Alapin is that it is easily countered with the move d5, as your opponent gets large amounts of acitivity with their queen without much punishment

    • @maxhenderson1890
      @maxhenderson1890 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spinnysponk778 I disagree. If e5 you just take, if queen takes then either nf3 or na3, with ideas for na3 of nb5, forcing the queen back to e8. If however that's not possible because they've played h6 prior to not allow you to do this, then either bc4 attacking the queen or nc4 with threat of nb6 forking rook and queen. White gets very quick development with tempo on the queen and black needs to be very careful.

    At 19:41, instead of moving the knight to c4, you can STILL move it to b5. If the pawn takes, you can take his rook with your a1 rook.

    • @Ilovemarvelll
      @Ilovemarvelll 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, you can, but it is an innacuracy or a blunder, depending on how you continue. If after Nb5 Qd8, you play d5, black has Na5 allowing for the capture of the knight in the next move by unpinning the pawn.
      If after Nb5 Qd8 you play Bf4, it is a blunder, because black goes e5, dxe5, Qxd1 Rxd1 and axb5, and black ends up with a knight and pawn extra.
      And if after Bf4 e5 you play Bxe5, then Nxe5 dxe5 and the sqme thing again

    Thanks for fulfilling my request! You are the GOAT! :)
    Edit: 14:12 Can't black take the g2 pawn with the queen?
    Also, 19:30 can't I simply play that previous knight move because of that rook pin?
    Edit 2: Please reply...

    • @Volclus
      @Volclus  ปีที่แล้ว

      At 14:12, if they capture g2 then you want to capture the bishop with check, most likely Kd7, then Dxe5! Sacrificing the rook, but if they capture then Kf1! and an eventual Bd5 will come and the queen is trapped. May make a short on this because it is a lil complicated.
      At 19:30, if we still play Nb5, it is not terrible for us, but we get a line similar to the e6 trap. The problem is black can have the ability to long-castle with a check after trading queens, while simultaneously escaping the pin. At the end of the day, we give black the advantage for no good reason. Hope this answers your questions!

    17:51 the move used here is the C Knight moving away but why doesn't the F Knight not just take the D pawn? It's only got one defender while Black has two attackers so I wasn't sure what follow ups involve that line

    • @Volclus
      @Volclus  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They can’t! If Qxd5 then Nc7+ forking. If Nxd5, then Qxd5! Qxd5, and Nc7+ forking and ultimately winning a piece

    • @rjagda
      @rjagda ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah right the pressure on c7 is causing all sorts of ruckus. Didn't consider a queen sac because I forgot it basically isn't a sac at all! Thanks!

  • @iqueron8890

    Omg. After I watch your video I literally playing against Sicilian and it took him 30 sec to move after A3. And then I can't get the trap because he play pawn D6 scared of some trap. But then we develop just like this 4:19 . I can feel his anxiety because how confident I am to move my knight back to his starting square. And then he resign with 10 sec left of his time and we don't even finish our opening yet 😂.

    • @etacarinae0
      @etacarinae0 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Capture the d6 bishop, king moves, then rook to g1. After Qxh2 you can play dxe5 and you'll have a very strong knight controlling lots of squares

    19:42 can’t you just play knight to b5 because is he takes with the pawn you just take rook on a8

    • @Volclus
      @Volclus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's actually a great find I missed when analyzing, essentially Qd8, and we get a similar line to the e6 variation, where black can have a small advantage due to rapid development, and an eventual long castle to escape the pin.

      @Volclus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes actually, I was just making a point about the queen moving and then being able to trade queens then capture, but I guess I didn’t see it

    nope, 2...Nc6 IS NOT objectively the best move for black in the position. GMs play g6 and the engine at depth 47 also says g6 so no. that is a false information.
