    Good spot and beautiful tent! Thanks a lot for mentioning Ray. I couldn’t manage to get a good fit with the Lanshan inner + A-frame setup either…Bonfus has a nice option which would fit with an A-frame but at the moment I am not willing to spend anymore money… thanks a lot.

      No problem mate. You have some great films out so keep at it. Did ask Ron at MLD if he would make a half-n-half inner (Solid / mesh) with T-Zip but he is not really interested. Matter of fact the biggest bugbear of mine is not having a two way zip on the door. That way you can just open the top section for a few inches to see what the weather is doing or a bit more ventilation. Again when I asked if he could do that as an extra I was willing to pay for he thought I was mad and wouldnt do it. Said that nobody has ever asked for it or would actually want it. Never mind it is what it is. Atb and happy trails.

    • @StripeyHatGuy
      @StripeyHatGuy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RS.Outdoors I see. I have a two way zipper at the door but hardly use it tbh. I am a kind of a digital guy, open/closed 😂. Was looking into the whole inner story for quite some time now, tempting to do my own but it won’t be cheaper either - might even just go with a no see um mesh without a door at all. Super light and I can use my bathtub, or just like last year - basically just sleeping with gloves and a head net. Looking forward to see what you do. Cheers
      Edit: Not sure if you have seen it but at the forcan ridge Sam used a bear paw wilderness design dcf inner which he quite liked apart of the length as he is a little more than 6 foot.

      Thanks for watching. Do some research on other folks channels before bitting the bullet. Although I think it is good it is only my own personal opinion and it also does need some tweaks and third party things to bring the best out in it. Not sure on the new Silnylon versions MLD has brought out is like either as I prefer the DCF as it is stronger and easy to modify. But costs are crazy at moment hence why I had to wait a while on a second hand one. Atb

    Nice video as always Ray. What's your thoughts on the newer Xtherm ? Is it worth the up grade and are you losing any durability ??? My mate bought the new xlite but on the first night the little plastic tab on the synergy loop that Thermarest do actually slit the mat open and it was while getting comfortable and nothing out of the ordinary. He is waiting on a response from Thermarest at the moment but its put me off buying one . I do like my Xtherm and now I am very hesitant about upgrading just incase the new version is less durable . ATB

    • @RS.Outdoors
      @RS.Outdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Olan. Have only used it for a few nights now and can say it is very warm and pretty comfortable. Think the new version is slightly thicker and does make a differnece if you are a side sleeper. Also doesnt seem to make any more nosie than other mats I have used and did fear it would have that crisp packet sound people go on about. However I do find I slide on it easy if pitched on a slight slope and maybe thats just due to my sleeping bag material. However I have found with mats such as the Sea to Summit and Big Agnes that has the deep pocket surface finish that I dont slide down or about on them as much. It is like the pockets seem to keep you more fixed on the mat if you know what I mean. Atb

    • @Olan...
      @Olan... ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RS.Outdoors I know what you mean Ray, i have that same problem with my Uberlite but if i place my Thinny beneath it it seems to fix the issue . I only use half of my Thinny which is long enough to use in m,y porch and when its time to sleep it protects my mat from waist height upwards which i find is enough and saves on a bit of weight and volume too compared to a full length one.

    0:27 l can see we're editing in DR (the title, l use that one too). So, happy having the Duomid back? l noticed your old Duomid had a different 'camo' than mine... The DCF of my Duomid has stretched a bit from all the 'Arctic winter camping' and the strong winds it has endured. The front of the tent is no longer straight, no matter how much l try. Anyway, nice video with the usual calm atmosphere l love so much. ATB!

      Hi mate and missed your post. The old duomid was bigger as well than the one I have now or seemed like it. This one is very old and every panel has stretched at points. Enjoying your latest videos and hope you get out for some more trips this year. Atb

    I’ve just picked up a silpoly Duomid 2nd hand. What trekking poles are you using and what height did you set them? I’m off for a couple of days on Tuesday morning and planning on trying it out. A bit different from my xmid 1 v2.
