- This is North Sentinel Island. One of the most mysterious places in the world. Home to the most isolated tribe in the world for the last 60,000 years. North Sentinel is one of the Andaman Islands belonging to India, and visiting is strictly forbidden. However, in 2018, an American man illegally hired a local fisherman to take him there.

Agreed 🤝
It wouldn't matter if he was infected. People carry around microbes that can cause infection to other people you come in contact with if they don't have the antibodies to fight them off. This has been an ongoing problem whenever people from more advanced cultures meet indigenous people. The visitors don't have to be sick. Their bodies have developed tolerances to these bacteria and virus, but the moment they come in contact with people who've never been exposed to them and thus have never developed immunity to them, the effects can be devastating to the indigenous ones.

@@linasuleman5470 Not for that tribe. Not for many other people in this world. The purpose of life should be to respect each other's ideas about life. A fact that is rarely mentioned is that in the late 1800's, the Sentinelese fell victims for colonialism, as a dude by the name Maurice Vidal Portman saw it fit to abduct people from the island, taking an elderly couple and two children with him to Port Blair to be studied and photographed in various poses (quite disturbing stuff). The elderly couple quickly succumbed to disease and the two children were later returned to the island, possibly introducing disease to the rest of the Sentinelese population. So no shit they are hostile, who would want to have any contact with the outside world after having their most vulnerable citizens kidnapped, used and (by circumstance) killed?
I really think that their true story should be shared instead of them being made out to be blood thirsty or cannibals or what not - because truly, the savages are us.
Totally agree. Without the context you mentioned this video is revisionist.
Yes, the mostly naked bow and arrow people that murdered an unarmed lone person are not the savages. 😂 Dude was still dumb for going though.

Lucky for them they have no oil, or else they would have been forcefully modernized by the "worlds greatest nation" 😂
@@DaMartyr They didn't kill him the first time he visited, they just chased him off. He was armed with pathogens, which can kill them (and has, in the past, as I mentioned). It appears to me they are aware of the disease risk. Which is why they buried the bodies out on the beach. I’d be SO interested to know what their belief system is and their history. There is a giant world buzzing around them they get a glimpse into sometimes (like airplanes) that they don’t understand. And they have contact only every so often with outside world. They must have their own version of history that’s so different to ours. I wonder if they think planes are mythical or if they are alien spaceships.
I don't think they believe airplanes are aliens, I think they know they are outsiders and they should avoid them.
Why invest curiosity in their belief system when there's no reciprocal interest in yours? He was rude and selfish.
He got exactly what he deserved.
I concur!
No he didn't. There is no way that he deserved to be murdered by the savages. Is that how westerners treat those who come unwelcome to our shores?
This is Asian missionary was brainwashed by RACIST WHITE Evangelicals to sacrifice his life for Jesus😂😂😂
100 agree. I feel so disgusted now I know he just wanted to bring jesus to them. It makes me so upset. This arrogance. He paid for it
Whe
PERIOD
I think it's great there's a population of people not influenced by modern civilization. These people are smart not to allow anyone else to visit as they would be exploited, conned and scammed out of their dignity and their island.
Exactly I cannot emphasise your point enough. Look what happened to the other Andaman tribes after they were contacted.
Or they can die from simple as a common cold because they don't have the same immunity to certain illnesses that we have
…and their culture. Evangelism has destroyed many cultures over time.
The only reason they're still existing is because the modern world is kind enough to not wipe them out lol
Sounds like the “refugees” coming to Australia
If they haven’t made contact with humans in centuries, they are not “endangered”
are the videos of the tribe actual footage

@@handle6781 all believers are.
why do Christians think others will WANT their pathetic zealot, mind-kontrol, lunatic religion....
leave people alone....
Fun Fact : They are hostile now but that was not always a case...
Under British India , British actually went there and bring 7 people from island to mainland India
6 among them Died In mainland and 1 was taken to Island again where he died too...
That must have horrible experience for them and since they are Extremely Aggressive towards outsiders...
So , Basically We are ALLIENS for them
sounds really fun.
They suffered in the past, that time must have been awful for them. I won't call them hostile, I prefer the word defensive in this instance. They want to preserve and defend their people, their island and their way of life. The Indian government has made this very clear, that's why the law is there, to protect them and their home. I think they are fascinating, and there is plenty of info online if anyone wants to study them. There's no need to invade their home.
Actually they killed a few fisher men and boat crew i guess before the insident you mentioned so they were pretty much always hostile
Very fine line between bravery and stupidity.
To bad so sad…you brought it upon yourself
He asked for it. They gave it to him. Transaction completed.
We do know about their language, it's similar to the neighbouring Andaman Islands language. We know this because around 1994 people from neigbouring islands went there and offered them coconuts which they happily accepted as seen in this video.
I don’t think it was ever concluded that they knew what they were saying. Pretty sure evidence goes against this, as nobody was able to communicate with them, or discern their language.
They click and clack at each other. That’s about it.
They actually brought them a few different thing and a pig too. Coconuts were the only thing they accepted. The pig they killed and buried into the sand right away. When the expedition tried to land and come closer the aboriginals shot arrows at them as a warning not to land. The arrows were dumb - with no arrow heads. They didn't want to hurt anyone just a warning.
Another interesting fact - there is a half sunk ship at a reef next to the island and the islanders were seen braking metal off the ship to make tools and weapons.
Another thing - it appears the islanders don't know and don't use fire. No one ever seen them to burn any fires or cooking anything. They don't have any boats either not even the most primitive.
Lesson learned: Do NOT, under any circumstances, travel to North Sentinel Island, it’s a waste of life!
Go to Andaman islands instead, just a few kilometers away from the North Sentinel island. There's an airport for easy connectivity. Great resorts, friendly people, absolutely stunning beaches.

I was just getting over chicken pox when corona hit. I got diagnosed with covid and discovered vitamin C works wonders on healing when it comes to common sicknesses.
I knew I had to help these people who would never know the risks of a weak immune system. I bought as many street vender oranges I could before entering a freeway I frequent on my way to work. One street vendor even got on his kees thanking me? I thought it was a little odd.
Anyways, when covid was deemed safe, I decided to visit the island. No one wanted me to venture there and I could not hire anyone for this planned trip? Weird right? I guess business is good?
I finally found some Somali fisherman desperate for work and was immediately hired. They got me as close as they could and I must have dropped off at least 150 bags of fresh delicious oranges to them.
I hope they liked the oranges and all the great benefits that comes with enjoying delicious raw oranges in its pure state.
haha okkkrrrr
Is this the other channel of What if?
Just gonna throw it out there, how could we possibly know they have been isolated on that island for 60,000 years ?
It’s explained that their body type seems to indicate they arrived from Africa around that time. Sounds like a hypothesis
They recently discovered a fresh birthday cake with 60,000 candles on it !
Because they make up whatever years they want for everything and can say it’s a theory
...stay in school.
How to Survive? Do not go anywhere near North Sentinel Island. Leave them alone. They know outsiders are dangerous and they are right.
It’s sad, John Allen Chau, meeting such a fate.
He had it coming
He crossed the redline.
Whats so hard about leaving people tf alone if they don't want to be bothered?
There is a possibility that extended isolation has rendered the Sentinelese people without immunity to certain diseases. This happened in North America when entire tribes were wiped out because of smallpox brought by European settlers.
I would not call those murderers and land thieves settlers. Settlers sounds so nice. They just came into my house, uninvited and just settled there.
Eating the occasional fisherman or missionary must have built some resistance.
Grow up. Murder is the intentional killing of an innocent person. Do you suppose that the pilgrims were well versed in virology?
Some of the early settlers did create smallpox-infected blankets and gave them to the American Indians. This fact is recorded in our history books. I did not make this up. The pilgrims were peaceful people that were helped by the natives and the pilgrims shared their Thanksgiving feast with them. We also know these are facts.

About people like John Allen Chau. I once had a boyfriend who was an evangelical. He thought the same way John Allen Chau did. If you did not share his beliefs, you were doomed. He tried to convert people. He didn't convert anyone that I know of, but the people he tried to convert did not appreciate his efforts. One night I was with him while he had a four hour "discussion" trying to convert someone. Ouch. These people are deadly serious, too. I can see them dying for what they feel and believe is right. So I understand that type of personality. While never wanting to be around someone like that ever again.
