This might be the longest edit I've done in my entire TH-cam career 😅 I hope you enjoy the beautiful views! Also, this may just be the first episode of a new series of videos... If you have a literary location you think I should visit next, let me know! - Sanne
first of all, i’m sorry for my english, i’m not a native speaker. secondly, the video is great! it’s so cool that you visited some places that are connected with the authors. i’ve never read these works but after your video i really want to🦦 thanks for the video, it was useful and amazing💕
Oh Sanne! I've been a subscriber for a decade and you are one of the few creators I always come back to this platform for - and this may be my favourite video of yours, ever! I have lived in Edinburgh for 3 years and just a couple of months ago I finally did a weekend trip to the Borders - Melrose and Abbotsford to be precise, so not nearly as many places as you managed to see. But seeing those places - and the ones I am yet to visit - through your lens and eyes and with how you wove the history of the place and its literary greats together made me appreciate them even more. Thank you for what must have been quite a grueling edit and for sharing the trip with us - can't wait for any other literary trips you might do in the future. ❤
Fantastic Video! The Tourism industry has been hit hard, what a wonderful idea to showcase various literary travels to inspire both the traveler and the armchair traveler 😊. I would love to see you visit Belfast for all things C.S. Lewis! The trail, the square etc. Thank you for taking the time to make such an enjoyable video!! Happy Bookish Travels!!
Hi Sanne. Just come across your channel and your beautiful video of the Scottish Borders where I live. I am actually a volunteer guide at Abbotsford where I meet many visitors from all around the world. Thanyou fir making such a beautiful video and showcasing our beautiful region. Haste ye back!
I have recently found your channel and glancing through the playlist I came across these literacy trips. May I say these posts are a balm to my soul. Your trip into the Scottish borders was fantastic and made me want to visit these areas. Thank you for these posts and please can we have more.
I'm loving the booktube Scotland videos at the moment and this was incredible. I'm planning a trip for my 40th at the moment... Maybe Scotland should be it!
This video was so beautiful, so relaxing, inspiring, informative, and your editing is incredible! I have been to Scotland once before and I loved it so much and I definitely want to go back! Thank you, Sanne! 😍
You captured the scenery so beautifully! And I loved how you pieced the video together along with the backstory and meaning behind each location. Really enjoyed this ❤
Dear Sanne, thank you for this beautiful and very informative video. I've had it in my playlist since uploading, but it has never felt like the right time. Until now, there is a bank holiday today and finally an autumnal feel outside, I sat down with it to watch and enjoy. Take care and best wishes from Slovakia
I know it's not the same but I'm currently planning a family trip to the Highlands (Loch Broom) and this has made me unbelievably excited. I've only ever been to Edinburgh once so roll on Scotland's beautiful views. An absolutely ideal first holiday for my very outdoorsy daughter
Such a beautiful and inspiring video! 😍 As a student of the English language and culture myself, I have been wanting to visit some of the beautiful places of Great Britain for the longest time. Without a driver's license, it would have to be by train, and without anyone else wanting to come with me, it would also have to be a solo trip - but maybe one day soon enough I will be brave enough to do it.
This video lowered my blood pressure. Such gorgeous work. Thank you for sharing. I read Private Memoirs and Confessions in a gothic lit class during my undergrad and ended up writing my capstone/thesis paper on it because I enjoyed it so much. My former English literature major self geeked out hard over this video. Can’t see what else you have in store for the series!
Another beautiful and inspiring video. I hope to one day follow in your footsteps and see these wonderful places i’ve read and dreamt about since I was a teen.
What s great and enjoyable video, thank you! I'll click on anything with Scotland in the title 😍 and you captures the Scotland feeling beautifully and the literature info was on point!
What a lovely, beautiful video! It was so relaxing to watch and I could almost imagine myself there. Scotland was already on my travel bucketlist, but I think it has jumped a few places now :)
Absolutely loved this! Been following you for years and have always enjoyed your travel videos...this one is so dreamy and the weather seems perfect for the mood. Really makes me miss traveling in the UK :') p.s. definitely picking up James Hogg now!
Congratulations on this beautiful video Sanne! I enjoyed learning through you some things about the homes and history of two literary greats. Looking at beautiful gardens and land, it calls me to go visit Scotland even more and looking at the weather, I am cold haha. It was good seeing you again and thank you for this video!
I started reading Mysteries of Udolpho last week, so this provided some really interesting context as it was published in 1794. I haven't been to Scotland in a while, and I miss it very much, very cosy video. :D
Absolutely amazing video, thank you so much for all the work you put into it! I've always wanted to go to Scotland, I hope one day I'm able to. This was super inspiring and just lovely to watch. Might also look up some of those introductory books too!

I am interested in the Bloomsbury group, would love to see a video about the writers associated with this group 🥳
Dorset for Thomas Hardy's Cottage and for places like Lyme Regis where Jane Austen spent some time would be so cool!
