You can also up cycle those single fashion socks. The ones left over when the other goes missing in the laundry for your smaller dolls. Some times you can get a cable knit looking sweater if the sock has that weave. Just remember if socks have print design on them make sure it is small design so it will look realistic. Unless you like the bigger design. For some larger dolls can use knee socks possibly. Those are also good for sweater dresses. Also. Thin socks if in good condition are good to make realistic Tee shirts with. I am guilty of buying new sock to ma ok e sweaters and tees from and underwear too. I found baby Yoda Knee Socks and made a sweater for my honorary granddaughters 18 inch doll. I found same in smaller size sock and made couple of Barbie tees. I found the socks on sale rack at Walmart for .50¢. So made a bunch of Doll clothing for about $5.00 with 10 pair fashion socks. Have not used them all but will soon.
A hint for sewing on velcro to stretchy knits--in order to prevent the knit from stretching when you sew the velcro to the back edges, you can use double-sided adhesive seam tape. It comes in 1/4 inch wide rolls, and you iron it to the back of the velcro, then remove the paper from the other side and iron it to the back edge of the knit, taking care to not stretch the knit (you can pin the velcro to the knit before ironing. Repeat for the other edge. This will keep the velcro in place when yopu sew, but some brands will be strong enough to hold the velcro without sewing.
Working on sewing the long sleeve shirt for the first pattern for Ellowyne season 2. Trying to understand how to sew the sleeves. Your videos are always so helpful!
I am using the same trick for sewing knit/jersey and even have my own toilet paper roll near my sewing machine for this purpose (this make my hubby smiling)
The color is beautiful. I made some doll clothes years ago with sweater knit...I crocheted a contrasting border around the edges....nice video as usual..from Tennessee
Thank you for the tip about putting paper underneath the fabric. I also have a heck of a time with my new sewing machine pulling the fabric in. I have been using some old coffee filters (wrong size for my current coffee maker). I have been enjoying your non sewing videos as well. Keep up the great work!
I hope that this free pdf pattern helps you enjoy creating a sweater for your favorite fashion doll.
Great idea with the paper. Love the close knit sweater material.
Thank you so much. It is a great material for doll clothing.

Excellent suggestion and a reminder to hunt for socks with small patterns. I bet the Yoda sweater turned out great.
This inspires me to try and make a sweater dress for my vintage Stacey. Thanks!
Wonderful!
Your camera angle is really helpful. Thanks.
Thank you for the feedback about the camera angle. I'm still getting use to it. :)

The fabric getting stuck was making me crazy. I think my mom told me to try the paper. It is so much better now.

Beautiful sweater. How do you sew a cow neck type of collar to the sweater?
You could cut the neck area wider and add a larger collar piece to get a different look.
I use scraps from cutting out pdf patterns.
Great tip. Thank you for sharing it.
