The king himself showed up halfway through the final battle, before his elephants arrived and I killed him easily with arbalests and heavy camels. Was kind of disappointing.
I went in blind to this mission and started pursuing Begemder until I stumbled upon the base that you're not supposed to engage. After an hour I brake them only to realize that there's a lone king Dagnajan attacking a mining camp I set up in the middle of the map lol.
This level confused the hell out of me. I played defensive, built up an army, and accidentally blundered into Dagnajan's army and killed him with halberdiers. I won, entirely unexpectedly.
Having played and beaten both the HD and DE versions of this scenario multiple times on every difficulty level, it is quite clear that the Begemder Kingdom was made into a "passive" opponent in DE, comparatively. They were pesky as hell in HD. It is really crazy how much you are able to cripple Dagnajan's army. If you don't cripple his army at all, his force is downright terrifying, but you can still defeat the army and kill Dagnajan without completing any of the side quests, even on Hard, but it is much more difficult. I think the most important thing is to take down the castle to prevent Dagnajan from employing the use of War Elephants or destroying the wonder to eliminate his accompanying monk force. I agree, best level of the campaign in DE of an otherwise meh campaign. I liked the final level in HD more, but the final level in DE is a joke of a final mission.
I thought his final assault was a bit underwhelming, but I massed arbalests and heavy camels and build a couple of keeps, and his army arrived in waves...King himself showed up before his elephants arrived.
Because it has been confirmed that both the Original AoE 2000 and HD versions' AI were using cheats to surpass human players. You cannot let a machine which can do multiple tasks at any single microbe of a second cheat against the human player who has to do all things manually at his own and thus lags behind the Machine AI.
For this one, I pushed east, took out Begemder and the monks. Found a decent deposit of stone which I used to drop a castle right next to Darginda's, defending with archers and shotels. They throw quite a lot at you but I was upgraded Imp by then and had already taken out Begemder's castle. I never even encountered the Alodian traders or rebels.
The funniest way to play this is to build up an army of ships and cut off red. They flail in circles other than the siege onagers and get wrecked. I've also noticed that its random which soldiers go. sometimes the hero goes and other times he doesn't
I was lucky with this Mission in Hard. I got never Attacked and prepared few towers and a army about 80 AT the castle... Nothing did happened and and i even looked the map around. Well point was... The king came ALONE to the mainbase and died... I even forgot the imperial century lol...
Good question. It's because of the historical Celtic community that migrated to Ethiopia during the Roman Empire times. They wished to leave the oppression of Rome, and found safe haven with the fellow Christians and warm climate in Ethiopia... ...I'm totally making all that up 11
I did beat this one but not nearly as decisive as Ornlu here. I am not that fast or good as him, I actually lost more solders than I killed. I killed some of the Alodian rebels but did not wipe out either Alodian group and did not see that they played a role in the end. I did kill the monks and some small encampments prior to the attack as well. I am simply not fast and good enough to kill everyone first. I did not kill the elephant corral so I had some elephants to deal with. In the end though some halberdiers killed several elephants and some monks converted the last one other than Dagnajan. That elephant got Dagnajan low prior to it being killed and by that time I brought more archers in to finish him off. Also isn't Ornlu a wolf that had to be killed in one of the campaigns? I just got back to playing the game but remember that name form some years ago when I had the Conquerors on CD.
I also got bored waiting for the army. Went ahead and killed them. Defeating purpled allied yellow team and they provided market. Don't know what the other way around achieves
I played on standard mode and it was too easy for me.i was waiting waiting waiting for the army. They camped on midway. I used archers to remove monks and used halberdiers to deal the king and elephants. I totally ignored destroying monastery. but defeated purple team. The army never reached nowhere near the castle
Check out the art of war tips and trick in Definitive Edition, they'll serve you well. For example booming works here well so you can churn out trash units en masse.
I built a castle towers and layers layers and layers of walls of wood preparing for the coming of the army, I sent a group of 60 scouts with the intention of just killing the monks, 6 came back alive and the thing is when they came back, Dagjastan was following them and I killed him with cavaliers and arbalest and I didnt know I just needed to kill him to win the mision, I think the mission should be won by destroying red castles or something like that, because the level at it is its a build up for nothing
Yeaaaaah another bugged achievement currently, spent some 40 mins goind all the side quests and killing the king only to find out it's bugged similar to Saladin mission 5
The trick is get to castle asap, then use pikeman & crossbows to defend. Get upgrades asap. That will give you time to get a castle up, which will really protect you from raids. I used my market to make that go faster. Don't change your diplomancy to enemy until you have a big army actually inside their walls. Otherwise they start just spamming infinite units and it's almost impossible to win.
The part your sneaky catapults one shot all enemies is freaking funny.

10th century Ethiopian guy: speaks nearly flawless English

The Arakh is pretty much the lovechild of a Shotel and a Khopesh.

What on earth is a celtic cross doing all the way out in Africa??

Thank you

If you go with purple you can pay them 300 gold to raid the enemy many times
There are 3 difficulty settings. Is there some mod or patch for easier difficulty settings because i can't beat any mission at standard level 😣
Maybe use some cheats like Marco and polo to reveal the game.
That'll make things easier while you can play the game just fine.

Used monks to convert few of their elephants.

This scenario isn't too challenging ... unless going for the Achievement ... then it is a Beast!
как ачивку в стиме получить?
Does his army ever push towards the west of the map? It seems really disappointing that they just stop moving.
ya they stop midway i have to hunt them down
Shortest game for me. I just made 4-6 ships and army of 30. Was fighting light blue and got a relic. Perhaps ally killed enemy king.

How did you get gold in the second mission?!

They really coulda worded better how to knock out the achievement in this one. What a pain in the dink
