Haha all this time watching your stuff, literally years. I never knew you were from Edmond, Ok. Born and raised in okc myself. Love your stuff man.
Drop D tuning is standard tuning with the low E dropped to D. Dropping it to half step means that youre moving the top string to C#, thus making it C# tuning. Didnt want people to get confused. Makes a big difference.

Hi Papa! How about Shinedown 45?
So, C# is Low E and EVERYTHING ELSE is 1/2 step down? Thank You for a VERY COOL lesson. I'd love to learn some Boom Chucks off this tuning. Don't need a cover, give us the lesson on you rocking out for hours messing with the tuning. I hear you, sounds AWESOME...

Could you do a video on how to play Copperhead Road by Merle Haggard? I keep looking on how to play it but I can't find it anywhere.
easy method for tuning, just use a capo on the first fret and tune to standard e (half step tuned)
wouldn't that be a half step up, not down? which would then be a full step above where this song is supposed to be played?
Brodo Fraggins I see what you mean but I think what he’s trying to say is put the capo on the 1st fret then tune that down to standard e and if you take it off it’s in d
I don't know if this is the right place for a song request But My Wife got married 30 years ago, and we both love a song by Stevie Nicks " Leather and Lace". I know it should be a fairly easy song to learn to play but I would love a guitar lesson for this song
Do Forever Girl by Jon Langston
try Thunder Roles by Garth Brooks
strum pattern anyone? the link seems to not be working.. would appreciate the help
I learnt A country boy can survive by Hank Williams and Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi first, and the strumming pattern is identical to Country Boy. Three for the price of one.
im confused because drop d tuning is literally dropping the low E down to D and leave the rest of the strings alone. DADGBE is drop D tuning. So if you tune the low E to D and the rest of the string down half a step, that is not Drop D Tuning. Can someone clarify what tuning he means?
try granddaddy gun by Aaron Lewis
do outlaw shit by waylon jennings
Edmond, ok!! I'm in Norman!!!! Love it!!

Do granddaddy’s gun by Aaron lewis
I definitely need help with the strumming lol
Im from mustang
so im confused. the tuning should be from low E: D# G# C#F#A#D#???
yeah he doesn't really go into much detail about this; be nice if he could walk us through it more lol
OKLAHOMA! Whew!
brother aaron lewis covered a motley crues afraid and just killed bit I can figure out how to play it.
Your description of the tuning would be drop d flat being you tone every string down a half step first
Can you show us how to play God and guns?
Hey bud, you say drop D, but everything (and I am total novice), that I have heard Drop D, is simply tune low e down step? Sounds like you are saying EVERYTHING down 1/2 step and then LOW E would actually be a C#, is that correct? Sorry if I am just plain stupid.
Play Aaron Lewis mama please please please
Hammer? Can you elaborate? Very, very, very green learner here.
Shawn It's usually referred as a "hammer on". Basically you hammer down your finger on the note/fret as the previous note you picked or strummed is ringing. Google is a good way to learn terms you're unsure about or anything else really. It's best to use that and TH-cam often if you want to learn.
Its actually drop D flat but close enough :)
It won’t send me the strumming lesson.
I’m from Edmond😂🤷🏻♂️
I find difficulty in singing and playing at the same time.
Lucas Stover I do too. I finally got to where I could sing and play simple chord changes though. I think you just have to keep practicing to where the song that you're playing is being played through muscle memory. I think if you practice stuff like not looking at your hands, and/or humming the words while you play, it helps you get the muscle memory down faster to where you can eventually sing and play at the same time.
I have grown somewhat in the week since I posted this. I mainly play electric, but a good acoustic song is often just 3 chords and the truth. Strumming to the metronome, and vocalizing, is a skill that comes with practice, just like the 6-string.
sorry rolls
the way you explained the tuning was not the best
Putting the capo on the first fret then tune your guitar to standard tuning. Remove the capo now you're tuned a half step down after that tune the low E to C# !! That's the easiest way I've found to tune to half step down. Hopefully this helps someone who like me who was looking for an awesome way. Happy strumming!! #CountryFolkLife
That’s really clever, never thought of that.
