- All Weather Firestarters are the first magnesium firestarter I've tested that solves all the issues I have had with every other one I've tried. It's easier to scrape, the excellent ferro rod and magnesium are replaceable and it is made in the USA! allweatherfirestarters.com/

They clearly got it RIGHT on this one WORTH what they are asking for in my humble opinion, and made in the USA, I like THAT!
The old Strike Force orange ferro fire starters were the absolute BEST ..
Half inch ferro rod that threw a ton of sparks & lasted forever...👍👍
I still have 2 of those in black..they ROCK!
About five weeks ago I bought 4 magnesium hot water heater rods because you recommended them. I can see 2 of them from my chair right now.
That is cool. Still the best low budget option I’ve ever found.
Hello S.O.P., you're on fire w/this one Brian!😊 Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
Great video neat fire starter. Thanks.
On gorilla tape.😁 and it burns too! That thing is cool!😂
I have to commend you on your continued commitment to Chuck Norris jokes in the year of our Lord 2024.
Best magnesium fire started I have ever seen.
Looks good, thanks for the review.
Ordered one.
Should last 2 lifetimes.
Thank you.
Great find! Thanks for reminding me about my Boy Scouts days of fire making!
Bryan, that is the best magnesium/ferrocerium fire starting rod ive ever seen you use.
Stay safe..
Awesome!! Just ordered one… thanks for sharing this.
Impressive!
magnesium bars in general all work fine, the real issue is they always cheap out on the ferro rod on most of them. i got a few from harbor freight, and just use one of my better ferro rods instead of the junk one on the bar and works great.
I purchased one of the smaller versions with the metal handle about 4 months ago at a G-show. I watched the man perform his pitch and had seen him before, but this time I decided to buy. If the person I watched and purchased from is the owner (I think he is) he believes in his product and it showed in his demonstration. The part I like the most is it's made in America. I haven't used mine yet, but it's comforting to know it's in my EDC haversack. When I go on my canoe camping trip in September, I plan on putting the starter to use. Good to test your gear and yourself.
This is probably the best fire starter I have seen you review. May order this one.
I’ve never heard it mentioned that you should never allow a ferro rod or magnesium to remain wet. Both will corrode.
Impressive, thanks
Those are awesome. Don’t have that kind of budget though.
Magnesium shavings are cheap, take less effort, and less space.
Good review Brian, thanks for sharing YAH bless brother !
This really put a spark into you………sorry 😂 That’s a beast. ✌️🇺🇸
I just buy magnesium shavings in bulk..
I carry a half in ferro rod with a small container of powered magnesium and done
whatever floats your goat... id be real careful with a pile of shavings in your house and in your backpack... pretty dangerous to keep shaved.
@@SirPraiseSunI've kept powdered magnesium in my fire kit for 30 years. Never had any issue. Keep your pack out of your campfire and you'll be fine.
If it rain cats and dogs a fast flame on super wet sticks with shawings will not work. The flame must be long to heat up the sticks and then the fatwood or some vaseline cotton ball will work better. But... if i broke both my legs and arms i will still trust on you Bryan if we was lost in space:)
If they make a fire , they dont suck . i think there may be as many as 10 cheap ones in my camping gear from harbor freight. Every one of them has been used to start a fire and I think I paid around $1.50 each .
👍🏻👍🏻
In defense if the now gone DOANS may zI give a history lesson? I was stationed USCG Airstation Kodiak mid 70’s. Our firestarters were NATO lifeboat matches still made by BCB and the ever present Zippo Lighter.
We were selected to test the NEW DOANS.
People do not understand military thinking!
They want aircraft to carry lots of fuel, ordnance or supplies. Survival gear? Its all miniaturized for WEIGHT and punching out of a tight fighter- not the C130 I was supposed to jump out the rear loadramp.
They used real Austrian Auermetall from Austria and a hard magnesium for longevity in carry, not use.
We were taught to make a BIG pile- no first fire means no future ones. I discovered the sawback on the survival knives made by Camillus /Ontario scraped shavings easily
We ALWAYS mixed it with lichen etc.
My civilian avocation found DOANS avtreasured gift to first peoples. They aren’t thrilled showing off friction fires on TeeVee
Without any clothes on.
DOANs were copied by chicom junk. Then,
The SPARKLITE became issue.
I still have that first one issued. They are collectable now! I still trust it. It wasn’t until the Bushcraft Fad I was informed it was no good: I need a phallic symbol in my kit.

You didn't throw it into your target. How do we know it's any good?
sharpen your magnesium rod before you throw it rona npc
No balance test Brian?
If possible make a depression in the ground so the wind wont blow it away..i carry a small container of powered magnesium..with Vaseline and cotton and hardley have ever needed the magnesium but ive been doing this for a long time!
I scraped some into waterproof bottles years ago to carry in my kit. Easier to scrape magnesium onto paper and keep in a bottle than trying to do in the wild.
Proper preparation prevents piss-poor performance.
Very nice. Bonus being made in the USA.
Also, how did you sit there and make this and not notice the snake on the tree?
Snake? What snake?
👍👍
Omg, that magnesium rod is the Smith and Wesson 500 magnum of magnesium rods. In other words, totally over the top and borderline WTF? 🤣🤣🤣
PS my missive on the original DOANs is not
Disparaging this product. You nay only HAVE that “ A survival knife is the one you had on you” item. It helps to know it’s quirks - and ours.
You aren’t the only one beat up by the weather. Hikers are dying all over the US.
This is a ‘shtf’ another poster gave insult on.
Smart folks make lemonade and stay in the shade.
Chris K
You MADE me but one! 👍👍
sheesh thats a lifetime wroth of firemaking lol but if you have plenty of magnesium like that you shouldnt have any issues without using a 2ndary fire maker.

I suspect that anyone who becomes
" really worn out "
By the sun being intermittently obscuredvl by clouds would have a huge problem surviving in a shtf scenario.
“Mad dogs and Englishmen, go out in the noonday sun.”
This heatwave IS a Shtf episode snd Brian is doing just fine.

Just a lame ad.
