    @6:10 goals in hockey are just like futbol goals, each is 1 point. There are no “extra” points. That’s why sometimes you see some very low scores in hockey games if neither team is able to get good shots on goal.

    A hockey season is 82 games, so they're playing a lot. There are rules around fighting. A "clean fight" will only give you 5 minutes in the penalty box. Of course, since both fighters are out at the same time, the two penalties basically cancel each other out. To count as a clean fight, both players must be ready - you can't just go up to someone and hit them without warning. No hits below the belt, no hitting someone while they're down. Once someone falls, the referees will stop the fight. Big brawls that bring lots of players into the fight might result in bigger penalties, if the refs think it's necessary.
    Using your sticks or kicking with your skates is DEFINITELY against the rules, and will land you in serious trouble. Fighting fans is crazy. I've never seen that happen until I saw this video. Someone who does that will be suspended or banned for life. But punches to the head and face are the normal way of doing things. That's why you see so many hockey players with missing teeth.
    There are a lot of good hockey fight videos out there on TH-cam, they're always interesting to watch.

      Fighting fans has always been in Hockey because some fans are Stupid enough to try to Engage these players. Some even venture ONTO the Ice.They don't realize how PISSED you have to be to go after a fan in the stands but you MUST Defend your TEAM MATES. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. In SLAP SHOT, they go into the stands in Syracuse, Actually I did that and have the photos and Police reports to prove it. 1975

    The instigator rule is the worst in hockey. The reason fighting is tolerated in hockey is because you have a bunch of guys with weapons in their hands, and you do not want to see players getting chopped in the head with a stick. The fighting actually calms the game down. Yes, it is very Orwellian, yes it is crazy brutal. However, it is often (not always) those that do not play the game that wish to see it changed. These athletes may well be the closest thing we have to modern day gladiators; not because anyone asked them to be, but because that is who they are.

    To explain the 1979 fight that had the Bruins go unto the stands, you have to know that the Bruins had just defeated the Rangers. They were still on the ice, when a Rangers fan reached over the barrier and hit a Bruins. Then the fan took a Bruins stick and hit him again. That's what caused the Bruins to oursue the fan. Afterwards, the NHL raised the height if the barriers between the fans and players.

  • @spacetiger5076

    The head is almost the only place you can really hit someone, everywhere else is pretty padded with hard armor surfaces. Depending on the other players position, he may have less padding or none in certain spots but mostly you’re just going to be punching each other in the head and face. One of the biggest marks of respect on the ice is taking the time to take off your gloves and helmet before a fight.
    Re: your friend, I think he may have been talking about “high sticking” which is you are not allowed to use your sticks to contact another player above shoulder level. You can’t slap someone on the head with it, for instance.

    • @THESANDMAN9
      @THESANDMAN9 ปีที่แล้ว

      THE problem with NHL HOCKEY is the SPEED of the Game. For example, NFL Football players are up to 400 lbs, some of them, but a HIT in the NHL is 17 % harder than a HIT in the NFL. It's Scientifically proven that although the players are generally smaller in the NHL, the speed times mass formula works..

    The players who play the enforser role. Although it basically doesn't exist any more. Definitely practice or you could say train in a sort of hockey specialized type of fighting. On skates and with equipment and cloths on. The tactics are not really like boxing. Although punching is definitely part of it...

  • @cheryla7480
    @cheryla7480 ปีที่แล้ว

    No you do not have to train for boxing. Even though a fight might start with them facing each other with both fists up……..Once they make contact it becomes a one fist fight for both men, not two fists. That’s because you each need to grab hold of the other player’s jersey to keep them from sliding away from you…..remember they are on skates, not able to stand still.

      @MBDTalk  ปีที่แล้ว
