Vancouver's SkyTrain Expo Line from King George to Waterfront in 5 minutes. To see this footage in real time, check out this playlist: • SkyTrain (Expo Line)
Very advanced train system.! The blue and gray color scheme is the most attractive. Kudo's to the engineers and builders. I am sure each pillar cost thousands of dollars to construct. Very expensive system. The suspension bridge is unbelievable ! A true "sky-train." Not for the faint of heart ! The little train that could (fly).! Reply
The automation and linear motors systems allow for low headways and the capability to climb grades of 6%. Its truely a marvel that Canadian engineers managed to build it in the 80s
Victoria BADLY needs something like this. It is amazing how the governments pretend its not necessary and that it is NOT the solution to the traffic problems in Victoria when EVERYONE knows it is. We even already have the pathway in place. Imagine Vancouver said "meh, we dont need a skytrain" in the 80's and it just never happened. The city would not function without it. Victoria is always 20 years behind. They are just finally building the main overpass on the trans canada highway... 20 years too late... and now it wont even fix anything... the traffic will just move up to the next intersection and bottleneck there. The ONLY solution is to get cars off the road. If people are given the choice between a 1-2 hour bumber to bumber drive in congested traffic or hopping on a train and reading a book for 10 minutes and being downtown there is no question as to what people will choose.

There is not much bad about the SkyTrain
Nice video! Although the Skytrain, for me, is a calming ride and the intense music is a bit unfitting.
meh I like the music! But calming music can work for a timeslapse video for the skytrain.
