    Slick. Love the interior. Galley looks like something Sailing Uma would design

    I still love it. In fact, I have the feeling that all my efforts to make money are just because I admire this great product of engineering and dedication.
    One question: Is it possible to use the toilet room for a quick shower? Is there a drain? Can the faucet be pulled out to function as a shower?

    I'm new to sailing but keen to learn. Would it be reasonable to cross the Channel on a boat like this?

    • @winstoncat6785
      @winstoncat6785 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You'd have no problem whatsoever crossing the channel in a BayCruiser 26. It's clearly a sturdy boat. People cross the channel frequently in open, sailing dinghies. Occasionally even on sailboards. The BayCruiser could manage much longer trips, offshore. Potentially right up to trans-Atlantic. Again, people have done trans-Atlantics on smaller and less substantial boats in the past.

      It looks very capable as a weekender or more for two or more. Cross channnel or the inland waterway here would be easily done. I wouldn’t hesitate to take this craft anywhere in the Caribbean.

      @@winstoncat6785 best not to encourage ocean crossings among newbies, I think. The Channel, of course, and any less dangerous coastal cruising if the boat is properly equipped, but the open ocean demands - I respectfully suggest - far more planning, better equipment, and much more knowledge of how to handle the unexpected. The boat could handle it, but the sailor needs experience, including handling bad weather over time, if that sailor wants to be fairly sure of survival. Teens have crossed solo, but teens with skills.

    • @winstoncat6785

      @@BradTaplin Yes. Of course, that all goes without saying. And even the experienced can be caught out. Any ocean voyage is taking your life in your hands. But so is crossing the road to some degree.

    is the boat suitable for sea and ocean?

    • @codylee434
      @codylee434 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      not likely with a 1 foot keel, in general, the longer and deeper and heavier the keel, the more stable the boat in the ocean.

    Ce p’tit canote m’à l’air d’être une belle réussite. Il cumule beaucoup d’atouts avec une vraie gueule grace à sa coque à clins, son petit roof sympathique façon Harle, ces aménagements plein d’astuces. Je lui souhaite un bel avenir !

    Excellent boat🥰. Unfortunately GB is not in EU anymore. So it will be hit by customs and taxes coming to mainland europe. Such a shame. Great boat for over here in NL.

      Hello Andreas. Yes, we left the EU🙁 but there are very small additional costs. We export the boat (ex VAT) and you pay this on import. And the pound is weaker than it was, so overall you probably save...

    All coppied from the McGregor 26, designed 50 yeats ago.

      I owned a MacGregor 26x for two decades. Same general idea with the water ballast, drop keel, twin rudders, but my MacG was a cheap Clorox bottle, fun but...
      This looks to be solid, with a much nicer cabin, easier boarding, better steering via the tiller, better mast and rigging, lovely design. Also, the MacG was built to plane with a strong motor, e.g. 50HP, while this is meant to slice, a better approach in heavy seas. My MacG would bounce around like a cork pushing upwind in 4' waves, even with the ballast.
      So no, this is not "all copied" from the MacG. Similar basic idea, but much better execution and priced accordingly.
