I really felt bad for Zai. To be thrown away and abused as a child, then to finally allow himself to feel something and to trust 2 people as friends only to have them leave the group that gave him life, that taught him everything he knew. They weren't intentionally trying to hurt him but of course he took it as a betrayal and abandonment. Then to be ruthlessly punished for them leaving. If they do another season I wonder how he will survive without the ninja clan. Having only himself.
Watched the show from start to finish and loved every second of it. Too many people get too hung up on the cgi and completely lose the plot. The studio tried something new and, although it wasn’t perfect, it made for an interesting story.
If you stop and analyze the writing, you realize even that wasn't ever really good either. It had a powerful start but meandered later on due to the writers having no clue what they were doing. In the end, even good animation wouldn't have been able to save it.

@@theidooski the ninjas still fought in hand to hand combat, they just used the suits to fight in, if you and everyone else are THAT nit-picky then idfk how you enjoy any piece of media and maybe i’m just not understanding but again, it was in the very first episode that they showed that not all of the characters were gonna be your stereotypical dress in black blend into the shadows type ninjas so idk how you can say it came out of left field
Right? I actually thought it was pretty cool how they augmented the ninjas hand to hand combat with the introduction of the power suits. People are too dense sometimes.
