  • I pre-ordered mine here: www.tatsuhobby....
    The Good: Great details. Cool face mask gimmick. Comes with several accessories and weapons.
    The Bad: A few minor paint issues (but probably just my luck). The VSBR is a little tricky to expand. Wrist joints to hands are a little problematic to detach/attach.

    The extra v-fin is for the fixed head if you wanna switch heads. I also have that problem with the wrists. My MB Exia was a bit difficult as well but not so much as the F91. The VSBR are difficult to close also with the small tabs that have to go under and slide into the gun when you close it. It's easy to close it and have those tabs sticking out. My F91 also came with a bunch of scratches from I'm guessing manufacturing or assembly. The gloss white makes it more obvious. Everything else is great though.

      Thanks for sharing your experience with the figure. There's probably a trick with the tabs. haha. A bit disappointed with the paint chipping, but at least they're not that obvious.

    MEADS! I am jealous fellow collector! Mine is on the way hopefully you picked up the add on weapons kit. I made sure to secure. Awesome review and awesome display piece! I just finished building Master Grade RGM-79C GM Type C. I noticed you build a lot of kits right mainly HG? Point being is you almost appreciate these Metal Builds more because you now in a round about way how they are built and adding the decals water slides / dry rub decals is tideous grant you a machine more than likely applies but none the less Gundam / Gunpla is awesome!

      Yup, getting the MSV add-on set. I build any scales, just that I haven't been reviewing any gundam kits I've built. I find other reviewers does a better job than I do. I definitely know the painstaking and time consuming effort putting all the decals. haha. Makes us appreciate these figures more.

    Looks a lot more angular compared to the rounded, anime accurate mg F 91. Still looks great though!

    Thanks for the review. It's nice, but the price tag, I don't know. Bought too many Gundam Die Cast....just want something spectacular, and this one is not. BTW, the new "Option" set for this is available soon, looks pretty cool. Freedom MetalBuild still kick ass.

    Would it be great if Bandai Sunrise made an OVA series (besides the 1991 film ver. of F91) based on the events that had happened in F91 since its also part of the late U.C. timeline. Like.... A side-story to put it in a way.
    Great video toy review by the way. I only have the MG ver. of the F91 and it's quite a good kit.

    excellent work as always! how do you see it compare build quality wise and articulation to other more recent metal builds like the red frame?

    • @meadeslemicah
      @meadeslemicah  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like it more than the red frame (which is currently at the bottom of my list). But F91 ain't high on that list either.... In terms of wow factor... the other MB's have a better way of showing it.

    Thank you for your honest review. I am disappointed because it is quite flimsy. I think this is more like Metal Composite quality, not really Metal Build.

      Joeie Rivera sorry but I'm not that willing to spend 200$+ originally figure which likely has already increased exponentially in price in the aftermarket

  • @duerf5826

    I don't know anything about manufacturing but is there a reason why Bandai keeps a limited production on their premium toy brands such as Metal Build and DX Chogokin? Since the toys have such a high demand, doesn't it make sense to keep continuously producing them?

    • @meadeslemicah
      @meadeslemicah  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends... it may not be as profitable as we may think they are. It's a lot easier to produce kits at a lower price and sell tons of those... than make high-end figures ,which takes time and profit margin may not be as good.

    • @zeiitgeist
      @zeiitgeist 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Meadeslemicah wait si do they restock after the initial release ever?

    • @duerf5826
      @duerf5826 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes they have reissues but the reissues tend to sell out fairly quickly as well. Each MB figure gets a handful of reissues at best.

    • @melvinthedeathless.melvint6727
      @melvinthedeathless.melvint6727 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One of the reasons why Premium brands have such a high demand is becuz of their scarcity; it motivates and attracts collectors and scalpers alike. It's not just metal build and macross dx products, tamashii web exclusives are just as coveted, and web exclusives are a one-off production with no reissue.

    • @meadeslemicah
      @meadeslemicah  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You are not wrong... it is the shorthand of the word. You can use either way. More than often you see it referred to as F91

    Over all of these years you think they would have figured out a material or engineering to make those v-fins durable.

  • @kreculjkreculj
    @kreculjkreculj 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    every time i see metal build figure i think to myself, Bandai, why oh why you don't apply those design choices and aesthetic to model kits, nice figure indeed.

    • @meadeslemicah
      @meadeslemicah  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a trade-off. Too much details might make the kit fragile and cost more to make. Similarly, kits are treated as blank slate to be customized on. It's rather hard to customized a fully detailed kit already.

    • @kreculjkreculj
      @kreculjkreculj 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      well i understand the customization part but don't agree about the cost part, since you had for an example Armored Core kits from Kotobukiya which were the most detailed kits i built, and the price was similar to MGs, also look what are 3rd party companies doing, they are making more detailed kits. But i'm not talking about details as much as i'm talking about aesthetics, design, for some reason Metal Build has the most badass design of them all.

    • @meadeslemicah
      @meadeslemicah  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How are your Armored Core Kits holding up? Unless you glue certain pieces together... you'll have parts popping off. There's a balance with details added to the kit. Again, you don't want to add too much and stifle ppl from customizing them.

      By now, this metal build price might have changed. You need to check online for the current market value. It might be the same as it was released or more.
