- NOTE: This is a LIVE first impressions LONG (look at the time) look through this deck and guidebook as well as comparing it to her other deck, Tarot of the Hidden Realms, a long time favorite of mine. This is a much anticipated deck by me by an artist I love so, take that as a warning, I am sure there are quick walkthroughs you can find!
If you want to take a class with me (Improving our Reading skills coming in Jan) or a workshop (3 Cauldrons coming up on the 17th), get a reading (tis the season for Year Ahead readings) or purchase a deck or wood product:

I’m half welsh and Scottish, just bought the deck, should be here tomorrow! I liked and subscribed! Love your energy and wealth of knowledge! Glad to be part of your group! - Francine
Oh, so exciting that it is almost here for you, I have found this to be just a fabulous reader!! Welcome welcome!
I recently moved back to my hometown in Scotland (Pittenweem) and I'm so glad that this deck has so many of our myths, animals, plantlife etc. My hometown was one of the worst for the witch persecutions. On the beach theres a spot where one of the ladies was burned and we go sometimes to honour her memory. Also, I saw a wildcat on a hike with my dad when I was little and I almost fell into the river trying to get to it. So I'd say there's certainly fey energy there.
Fun fact: Some of the bus drivers on the longer journeys here give kids a booklet with pictures of stags etc for them to tick off when they spot the animals on the journey. They're much larger than anyone thinks!
Oh that is amazing to be home I am sure! I am so glad that people like you take the time to honor that woman who was killed there, and having recently had some wildcat prints around the cabin and surprised at how large they were... I bet your dad was horrified at your trying to get it :D
Thank you for the great review. So happy to see a deck that connects so strongly to my Scottish heritage!
So amazing, I have been using it since and just loving it!
I didn't even know that Julia Jeffrey did work on another Tarot. I love her artwork in the Hidden Realms as well as in this one. Such gorgeous and expressive art pieces. Plus I love when creators use their guidebooks to actually explain their specific deck and choices. So love to see that she did that as well, especially since this isn't a typical RWS meaning kind of a deck.
What I really wanna do now is pair this with the Illuminated Earth Oracle for a shadow/unconscious part of a reading and then use the Hidden Realms and Faceted Garden Oracle for the Light/conscious part of the reading. I think that could be quite an interesting 4 deck combination.
Beautiful , I love her art work
Such a gorgeous deck! 🖤
I’ve been reading The Highland Witch as per your recommendation while I anxiously wait for my deck to arrive. Such a wonderful book.! Thank you for yet another awesome deck walkthrough! ☺️
I think this deck is going to be so important for you in connecting to your scottish ancestors, Kelly. It will really open something up x
Agreed ❤️
Can’t wait to get these cards x
I really want this wild, witchy deck. Waiting till after January. Edit, i couldn't wait! LOL, i already got it and its only jan. 11th.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
Absolutely loves these ✨✨✨ thank you for the walk through 🙏 ✨ could be on the short list 😀
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS commenting before watching because I have been just WAITING for your takes!!!! Eeee!!
Well. That did NOT dissappoint. Highland Witch/Corrag is on my To Read list now!!! 😍😍
Corrag lives! This deck was my most anticipated in a long time.
You and me both!!!!
Yes.. I say the same Kelly.. I don't need any other Tarot deck but this one... I have to wait till January as I'm in the UK but I just know this is my soul deck.. I already have a connection with these cards. I have followed Julia's creation of this deck and I also have many of these images on print from Stonemaiden Art.. Julia's Etsy store.. I love this deck and can't wait to work with this. ❤❤
For some reason, i wasn't feeling this deck from the cover, so I didn't bother with any walk through. But I love your reviews so watched it anyway. Oh my, I've never ordered so quickly!! All the feels. My family are Irish and Welsh. My grandad was romany. But my step dad's Scottish. What was I thinking!? Kelly, I love your videos. Never apologise you're amazing! Xxx
I am so glad you enjoyed it, I have not stopped using it since!!
I am revisiting this after getting this deck… and have been looking through your classes and other offerings and can’t decide where to start my journey learning with you! I can’t decide what type of class to take… I have the most problems with the numbers and court cards!
Aw, well, I would say probably Tarot given where you feel the most problems!!
Kelly thank you oh so lovely the art wows me. Going to re-watch later 😳 hope you and Isabell have long recovered from the wee bear scarring the bee Jesus out of you 🤣 lol knowingly now you're safe. Happy times ahead Kelly soon 2024 will ring in 7pm here our time is mid night in Bonnie Scotland 🎉🎶💞
LOL I think the bear scared me and *I* scared Isabelle :D We have recovered :D Happy New Year to you!!!
You are doing the best walk throughs! I ordered the deck after I saw the empress, not pregnant and no naked baby in sight lol perfect
Aw thank you so much, this was an easy one, I was so stoked and it so did not disappoint! I have loved every minute of working with it!
You're very welcome ❤ don't make them a minute shorter lol
Love your walkthroughs so in depth. I’ve waited for the release of this deck for sooo long but beings I’m in the U.K. I still have to wait longer
Ugh, I did hear that the UK was delayed, I am sorry! Definitely worth the wait though!!
This is gorgeous! I hope to pick this up soon. Definitely makes up for the lack of "oomph" from that Witch Garden tarot, right? Haha!! Thanks so much
Yes!! And I am not saying every deck needs umph lol, but this one has it in spades ❤️
Hi there. Thanks for such an in depth viewpoint on such a tremendous deck, hopefully to get to us in the New Year. My question is: I live in the Southern Hemisphere where everything is switched around. I have seen a Pakua chart for the Southern Hemisphere Feng Shui from an Architect in Cape Town. Even deck producers in Australia (Red Feather, Blue Angel) obviously align their decks to the Northern Hemisphere, as the majority of users populate America (US Games, Simon & Schuster), the UK (Llewelyn, Findhorn, Cicco), Italy Los Scarabeo) and Europe (not sure of Publishers). For example, regarding the Wheel of the Year would you advise celebrating Festivals that the south normally celebrate? I have a feeling that the Southern Hemisphere folk should at least honour these Northern Hemispheres aligned Festivals, maybe becoming aware of them at the right time and their purpose but at the same time follow local traditions. It would be very interesting to hear your comments. Blessings for more such exciting review of upcoming decks. Best wishes, Gay.
I always recommend honoring the turning of the seasons from where you are standing and living first, and then if you feel a draw to these Northern festivals, through European heritage or maybe just in celebrating the whole earth not just your hemisphere, it certainly makes sense that you can work them in as well!
Enjoyed this walk through immensely. So much so, that I immediately went to Llewellyn and bought the deck! I read Corrag on your recommendation and I agree with you that this new deck shares that vibe. I do not usually post responses but in this case I wanted to share a couple of book recommendations. You give so much and it’s only fair to give back a little. These are more ancestral book recommendations and not as witchy. The first book series is The Camulod Chronicles by Jack Whyte which is a reimagining of the story of Arthur with a pre written history focus. Jack Whyte was Scottish so he knows his stuff! The other series is The Circle of Ceridwen Saga by Octavia Randolph and the series starts in Wales but goes north. So this is a tale of the Danes and pre “England” history. Octavia Randolph has a website with all kinds of interesting historical stuff. Both authors are great story tellers imo! Love, love, love, your reviews!💓
Oh thank you so much for the book recommendations, I wish I could pin this like we used to be able to do!
Going to also recommend The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell. It is another retelling of the Arthurian legends rooted very well into the history of the region and the religions/craft. Nimue and Merlin are heavily featured. Excellent series.
I will check this series out, I read his Last Kingdom series. Thanks for the recommendation. @@lbr88x30
This one isn't for me, but wanted to comment just to say I read "Corrag" a long time ago, when it was called something else (it seems to have changed titles several times) and feel it's one of the best books I've read in my life (and there's not much I haven't read)!
It used to be called Corrag and also Witch Light and I agree on it being amazing and I have read a lot as well!
Does the Highland Witch book you recommend contain all these testimonies? I'd love to read all these mentioned witches and testimonies in full. Where would I be able to do this?
No it does not, it is based on the one historical incident! You can find testimonies, at least, of the Salem trials, online!
😍❤😍
