Hmmmm, this guitar has tempted me….especially after watching your initial review of it, but so far I have resisted the temptation. I must say, the look of the white pickups is sweet, but that is way too many controls for me. No doubt, those mods have made some pretty impressive choices and sounds though. The Neurotic Guitarist logos on it are awesome….real nice finishing touch on the modding. Will I eventually give in to the temptation? It’s possible, but there are just so many choices out there, and having the funds or room to store or display the guitars is always a factor too. Enjoyed your video, as always! 👍🏻
@HVA58 I am more tempted by PRS Narrow Field pickups at the moment..got to try those. Seems like my cup of tea! But everyone knows on board EQ is an amazing thing!
I don’t have the mental capacity to actually use that many options - I can barely handle a telecaster most days - but that is incredibly cool. Love that PRS makes guitars that are affordable enough for guys like Josh to modify and are still higher quality than most custom-shop guitars from … other manufacturers.
Feel the same way about the 85/15 S. I went the opposite direction in the SAS and put in used 58/15 LT. Now it feels like a bolt on 594 double cut without the sucker punch to my wallet.
How did you live the first part of your life without this guitar?!? 😅😅😅 i like the organization of the knobs! Some people play there, but anyone else is golden!
Benny! You gonna let me mooch those 85\15s or what? Just kidding. Awesome mods and it has tones for days! And my wife and I counted 34 Starlink Satellites one night a few years back. Crazy stuff! You’re awesome and thank you for another great video!
Yah I thought that's what your string of pearls were, but aliens would be more exciting. Though internet anywhere on the planet for cheap is pretty exciting too. But your PRS SE SAS with Josh's Crazy Green Monster Mod is REALLY exciting! Built in active EQ, wow! I've got one of these SE SAS and it needs modding for sure, so this is inspiring.
Loved the gain tones with the boost circuit on. That was pretty sick. Not sure if that guitar would make a lot on sense in a gig situation with all the knobs and such but what a studio instrument!
I'd never wanna play that live. imagine hitting the wrong thing. too much going on. definitely a studio guitar for Neurotic producers. I personally prefer a guitar that's simple and everything sounds good on it like a Marshall where the eq does shit and it all sounds good vs a Mesa mark iic+ where if you touch one knob it can be the difference of meshuggah and yanni
IMO 85/15 pickups sound better in a 24 fret guitar than 22, that brighter sound in the neck pickup just seems to match the sound profile and pickup location. That green ash axe looks great. So many choices... I'm overwhelmed hooking up 3 amps for a mayer/bonamassa/moore setup. Your enthusiasm is a bit infectious. Take care
Benny…. Or should I say Travis Walton? Can you get an out of phase sound out of this bad boy? Neck pickup has a little bit of a Mark Tremonti tone going on. Sounds pretty balanced with tons of gain. Lead pickup has a little bit of a Michael Schenker sounds to it.
Ironically, of all the things it can do, Josh didn't wire anything out of phase on this one. That's fine by me, there's more options than I can handle lol
That Guitar: "Yup, that could be Third eye blind!" That Guitar, also: "Yup, Third Eye Blind, alright....!" That guitar, thrice times: "Hey...that is....Third Eye Blind, Semi Charmed Kinda Life...! I know that one!" That guitar, as a quadruplet with mutes on the note corresponding to floating-point division as a 3rd Ocorina of time of the time-rift which the Pillar of Autum used to help fight the covenant off of the second Halo ring: "Yah, thats Third Eye Blind, not the Halo theme song...."
I completely agree. It's the Third Eye Blind Endless Time Continuum that can only be reached through excessive modding of PRS SE guitars. It's a semi charmed kinda serendipity, don't you think?
@@TheNeuroticGuitarist Lol, yah. I dropped off the face of life. I gave an old SE single cut away to a friend, and very stupidly sold the custom 22 I had in college when I got into my "nice guitar" phase. But it is nuts. A good prs makes a tone and like, almost anyone can just make up the band it was for or what track used that sound, it's just so clean and so mid and like pre blended haha. Now I just want a new job so I can buy an old Carvin carved top, or something made with reclaimed wood, and be happy.
Paul has made them affordable for mear mortals now, haven't you heard. Lol I got like 6 of them affordable ones, and 6 of the lawyer guitars. But there not just for lawyers anymore.
Josh sounds like a great Luther. If you play guitar, having a guy like that is invaluable. They will loose quite a bit of cash from your wallet too. I know, I have one, we'll maybe not as good with electronics as Josh.
You make a really good point, I wasn't even thinking that the SAS was 22, I always think of 24 w PRS. There's definitely more harmonic fun happening around the neck pickup with 24 frets.
If your a guitar player with a dog you automatically get put on the cool people list in my head. Oh and I saw that les paul video about the pickups that were in the cabinet and put back into the guitar.
Charlie can ring your bell...or at least Donna Summers says...cause he saw a UFO!! Axe can't be modified much more...think I'd forget half of what it's capable of...kinda crazy what goes on in Josh's mind!
You’re totally tapped . . . so is your guitar . . . and I’m here for it! 😂🤘🏻🎸
🤘🤪🤘
I like what you did with your swamp ash special. I too plan on changing the pickups in mine, though I haven’t decided which ones to put in yet.
What type of music do you predominately play?
I always love when you talk about these
I love me a PRS guitar. This one is a wild one.

You can play it in person next week!
@@TheNeuroticGuitaristThat would be awesome. So looking forward to finally meeting you in person and seeing your incredible collection! 😉

Dude, I had to call Josh to remind me what everything does exactly hahaha

Rock on! 🤘 thank you for watching. Please subscribe and join the madness. 🙌
Hell yeah !! That guitar sounds killer Benny those mods are insane in a good way and I think the white Dimarzio pickups really set that PRS off.
I do, too. My only issue is that there are entirely too many decisions to be made
Damn Benny. That thing does everything except make a pot of coffee for you in the morning.
or have out of phase sounds...other than that...lol

I had no idea, I literally resolved myself to the aliens being here
That guitar sounds great. Definitely worth it.
Rock on! 🤘 thank you for watching. Please subscribe and join the madness. 🙌
That control layout puts 80s BC Richs to shame lol. Awesome stuff.
Haha, Josh literally had to figure out how to fit all of that shit into that guitar. he had multiple iterations before we settled on that layout

the 22 vs 24 thing is a huge factor that I absolutely didn't mention!!! that guitar hurts my brain
Obway,Gaston wants to. Know,if the nurotic guitarist has ever given that or another animal, oral support 😊😮😂
🤡

Now that you pulled out that JB strat with LS pickups, I'm more interested in it, if not aroused by it.

Like the EQ every bass player needs on steroids taken to 11 with Neurosis!
🤘🤪🤘
Maybe one day ill be cool enough for a PRS

KEEP TOKIN BRO !🔥🤘
Literally what I'm doing, bro 🔥
Why cant I find friends like this guy. Everyone I know sucks. Nobody even owns a freaking keyboard forget about a wall of Gibsons. 😣🎸
🤪
The knobs are in line like the Starlink satellites
yes, yes they are. astute observation
I think you should be named the Maniac-Neurotic guitarist, but could PRS mod though.
🤘🤪🤘
Swamp A$$ I believe there's a cream for that?🤔 But the guitar is great 85/15. that's what's in my PRS! Thanks Benny 🤘

24 vs 22 fret makes a lot of difference in pickup position and tone... I guess that is one of the key difference here.
