Oum kalthoum is still considered the best singer (male or female)to ever grace a stage in the whole MENA region 50 years after her passing. no one till this day came close to the kind of talent she had.may she be granted paradise cause she brought happiness and pride to soooo many of us

People, I wish you refrain from comparing Um Kulthum to Fairuz or the other way round. They were both amazing vocalists, their music survives through generations and generations yet I believe they are from different vocal backgrounds - I'm not an expert, but I'm sure an expert would be able to identify that Um Kulthum's voice is in a different range than Fairuz's they're both amazing, wonderful singers that will never exist again! And this video is brilliant! thanks for sharing
I swear, no matter how calm and collected I can be at times, if I was at one of these concerts I would've have degenerated into one of those sweaty, messy men who, after pulling their hair out in a total musical daze, would be screaming something like: "Allah ya sett!!!!! Ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She's too much. I can't get enough.

I do realise the affection and admiration you have for Um Kulthum, believe me I do as well - she is seriously a legend. If you don't "like that voice" of Fairuz, then it's your own personal opinion and you don't have to impose it on anybody. Just understand that as much as you prefer Um Kulthum way more than Fairuz, there are people out there who disagree with you and like Fairuz instead. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and everybody has their own taste.
