      I'm not a boat captain or nothing, but I would really loved to know what is the proper protocol in the rough conditions to avoid stuffing the boat? Because some of the people are going at speed and it looks like they are trimmed up, but they are still stuffing the boat.

    The problem is these boats have no bow flare, which results in very little lift at the bow. This is done intentionally to keep the bow down, but in rough conditions it makes stuffing the bow easy if the operator is inexperienced.

      I don't want to make light of this 'sport', or whatever it is, but if I had a boat and I was zipping in and out of this chop, YOU would be wearing a vest. Sorry, but it's just dumb to tempt fate like that. It's not a point of being bounced around a lot. It seems like people are sitting or standing kind of comfortably here. But the fact is, they're burning calories just to keep from spilling their Pepsi's. Getting dunked when you're expending a bit of effort, but constantly, is getting dunked when your muscles are a little tired. Why not wear the damn things in choppy water, at least?

    Retailers Make Very Little Selling Gas
    Generally, the markup (or “margin”) on a gallon of gas is about15 cents per gallon(gross profit before expenses). Factoring in expenses, which include rent, utilities, freight, labor and credit card fees, a retailer is left with about 2 cents per gallon in profit.

Next year I think we'll see quite a few quint and sextuple 600's. Crazy to think about close to half a million dollars in outboards hanging off back of boat!

    I think the current trend of most boats 45' and under going with outboards has an adverse effect on ride. Notice how many boats coming thru the inlet have their props loose contact with the water and over rev. I/O's had their lower units lower in the water as well as distributing their engine wait towards the bow. I think the outboards are unable to get the proper bite in the water which negatively affects trim angle. Just a thought not based on science.

    They mostly handle the rough water well. Need some skill at the helm not to bury the bow with the power available, but really enjoy this video and the MEs. The 37's are too small for large swells without great skill probably; the upcoming 51' vitesse will probably be even better, with the 60' beast a bit heavy and long with the current power to keep up the bow. Great work and will watch this many times!

    I know nothing about the Midnight Express boats, but the folks driving them reasonably seem to do fine. I kind of see the point of the reverse shear. It improves visibility. I personally don’t like it, but I see the point. I think they probably thought you would just keep the bow up when it gets sloppy. Meanwhile, that guy straight up duck dived a 60 ft boat with a 15 ft beam and 6 racing outboards in like 4 ft seas (less?). I’d say “task failed successfully.”

    • @sbsaaboney5454
      @sbsaaboney5454 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the speeds these boats go you want the visibility, and I think they handle rough water fine if the pilot drives with some skill and responsibility; I actually like the way they handle roughstuff, but some of these boaters are trying to go WOT, trim down like the sea state doesn't matter.
