1. Our Old Self-image vs God’s Image of Us
2 Cor 5:17 (nlt) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has
become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Self-image - The belief we have about ourselves because of what we
look like and what people have said about us, it’s the picture we
have painted of ourselves based off our outward situations,
circumstances, or voices
Eph 2:1 (msg) You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing
about living, tell you how to live.
1 Jn 5:19 (nlt) We know that we are children of God and that the world
around us is under the control of the evil one.
The world’s self-image is fear, perversion, addiction, insecurity,
pride, rebellion, unfaithfulness, depression, manipulation, bitterness
etc...
2. We Believe & Declare What God Says About Us Now
Eph 4:24 Put on your new nature (image), created to be like God
Prov 18:21 The power of life and death are in the tongue
Negative words help to create a negative self-image, God’s words
help create God’s self-image, we declare what God says about us
Num 13:33 We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes
Josh 1:8 This Book shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall
meditate (to repeat softly to oneself) in it day and night, that you may
observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make
your way prosperous, and then you will have good success
Mk 5:28 (bsb) She kept saying, “If only I touch His garments I’ll be healed"
a. I am redeemed from the curse and blessed with Abrahams blessing
Gal 3:13,14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having
become a curse for us (“Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree) 14 that
the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus
Gen 12:1-3 “Get out of your country, from your family and from your
father’s house, to a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great
nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a
blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who
curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Protection, provision, family, health, success and dignity are mine
b. I am delivered from the power of darkness
Col 1:13 He Has rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us
safe into the kingdom of his dear Son
Ps 8:2 (gwt) From the mouths of (your) little children, you have built a
fortress against your opponents to silence the enemy and the avenger.
c. I am a Child of God and He shows me what to do, I never worry
Rom 8:14 those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Matt 6:33 (nlt) “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we
eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate
the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all
your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live
righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
d. I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might
Eph 6:10 be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Phil 4:13 I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
