worldofelegance15 I get a lot of questions like this, the best thing to do with these kind of videos is to lessen the length of clips to 10 seconds each since it’ll be hard to identify copyrighted music within that duration. I sometimes put the length to 20 seconds but anything over that gets blocked, so to avoid that I make it less than 20 seconds.

I love it so much when I see them in these kind of videos because many new fans don't know them, while they were the first group I love, and they were really successful those times. I 90% agree with this. For those complaining, Having millions of views on YT doesn't make a song iconic, its basically the impact that it left behind. As in, even though you don't stan the group or even know the artist behind song but you can sing along and probably dance the choreo, Like some songs came out like 8yrs ago but people are still jamming to them to date(now that's iconic).

And TT is iconic for many reasons already. They broke every record with this song and album (most viewed, most selled by a GG band, the one who stayed longer in the charts) and they are the one who broke their own records with this song. Michelle Heinz an Iconic song is popular by definition. And I said thats the only thing you can said about TT is that its too new, but again no. An Iconic song is a song who broke records, change the kpop game or put the band into fame. TT did all of that, and by definition it will become a classic, and iconic even If I still think its already the case, but okay.
I remember when I was 11 or 12 I used to listen to Super Junior, FX, Girls Generation and Shinee, and I listened to them just because I loved the rhythm of the songs (no fandoms) I stopped listening to kpop and now that I am 20 I listened to this genre again thanks to BTS and seeing their videos makes me nostalgic : ')
Here's the difference between popular and iconic. Big Bang went on multiple MAMA with Fantastic Baby and people jammed to it like if its new, new fans and old fans and non-fans jam to it and the song is at least 1+ year old and relevant. Iconic wisthand time. Popular is a fad. Iconic leaves a mark. Another example, you got group till this day covering SNSD's Gee and In The New World. Iconic is a national craze that even old people get into. When Brown Eyed Girls came out, even grandmas knew how to dance to Abracadabra. Last, but not least, let's take my bias group (forever) 4minute, while Crazy is really popular (heard it on a recent variety show episode), their iconic sing will always be Hot Issue. Even, till this day, you hear it. Like Park Ji Yoon came out with Coming of Age Ceremony a long time ago and you got generations of idols covering it as if it was a must to cover it.

I think people need to be patient to see if a song is going to become iconic, just see how it evolves through the years. The thing is, some fandoms are so stubborn that if they don't see the group they stan in such videos they sometimes go a bit over the top
I guess for the song to be called iconic is when people still familiar with the song even after years and years the song released, sometimes even the singer no longer around and people could easily sing along to it anywhere anytime. Like Super Junior Sorry Sorry and Mr. Simple, BB Bang Bang Bang and If You (GD); IU's Good Day, Through the Night and Marshmallows; Shinee's RingDingDong and Lucifer; Psy's Gangnam Style; Rain's Bad Boy/Rainism, LaLaSong; Beast/Highlight songs;TVXQ and Shinwa has a lot of songs that people still sang nowadays. We haven't even mentioned songs from many soloists other than IU and Hyori. Most recent k-pop songs from current idols/bands are all good but it remain to be seen whether it will stay in people's mind for decades..

Something changed. The normal vibe that I used to get from kpop music changed with the new songs. I feel like it lost its uniqueness. Maybe it's just me but I don't feel the usual happiness and ease when I listen to most of the new songs. It might because when I started listening to kpop it wasn't that famous and the fanbase is much bigger now so I feel more stressed if I don't like a famous song. I still feel happier listening to the old ones but I feel now that I have to know the new songs to feel more included in the Fandom. I still like some new ones tho.

I think they are too much Americanized right now. I stopped listening to American pop music because it was dominated by rap and R&B and though I used to listen to a lot of HIPHOP songs, I got fed up with hearing it in all type of music. KPOP was like a new found treasure for me but now it is also dominated by rap too. That's the reason, I can't listen to EXO or BTS, too much rap for my taste

popular means iconic in kpop's case. whats popular is then copied by other artists or they try to make something along the same concept. At the end of the day, they have to make money and popular stuff sells

I guess iconic means the song never get old and is still popular even if it's an old song. So you can't add a 1 or 2 year old song in this video. It is just for the legend old gen groups🙃

As in, even though you don't stan the group or even know the artist behind song but you can sing along and probably dance the choreo, Like some songs came out like 8yrs ago but people are still jamming to them to date(now that's iconic).

Big Bang went on multiple MAMA with Fantastic Baby and people jammed to it like if its new, new fans and old fans and non-fans jam to it and the song is at least 1+ year old and relevant. Iconic wisthand time. Popular is a fad. Iconic leaves a mark. Another example, you got group till this day covering SNSD's Gee and In The New World. Iconic is a national craze that even old people get into. When Brown Eyed Girls came out, even grandmas knew how to dance to Abracadabra. Last, but not least, let's take my bias group (forever) 4minute, while Crazy is really popular (heard it on a recent variety show episode), their iconic sing will always be Hot Issue. Even, till this day, you hear it. Like Park Ji Yoon came out with Coming of Age Ceremony a long time ago and you got generations of idols covering it as if it was a must to cover it.

I guess for the song to be called iconic is when people still familiar with the song even after years and years the song released, sometimes even the singer no longer around and people could easily sing along to it anywhere anytime. Like Super Junior Sorry Sorry and Mr. Simple, BB Bang Bang Bang and If You (GD); IU's Good Day, Through the Night and Marshmallows; Shinee's RingDingDong and Lucifer; Psy's Gangnam Style; Rain's Bad Boy/Rainism, LaLaSong; Beast/Highlight songs;TVXQ and Shinwa has a lot of songs that people still sang nowadays. We haven't even mentioned songs from many soloists other than IU and Hyori.
Most recent k-pop songs from current idols/bands are all good but it remain to be seen whether it will stay in people's mind for decades..

Something changed. The normal vibe that I used to get from kpop music changed with the new songs. I feel like it lost its uniqueness. Maybe it's just me but I don't feel the usual happiness and ease when I listen to most of the new songs. It might because when I started listening to kpop it wasn't that famous and the fanbase is much bigger now so I feel more stressed if I don't like a famous song. I still feel happier listening to the old ones but I feel now that I have to know the new songs to feel more included in the Fandom. I still like some new ones tho.

I think they are too much Americanized right now. I stopped listening to American pop music because it was dominated by rap and R&B and though I used to listen to a lot of HIPHOP songs, I got fed up with hearing it in all type of music. KPOP was like a new found treasure for me but now it is also dominated by rap too. That's the reason, I can't listen to EXO or BTS, too much rap for my taste
