The “Italian Market” you passed on Jefferson Rd is called DiBella’s. They have better subs than Jersey Mike’s, Firehouse and Jimmy John’s. And they have one of the best chocolate chip cookies you’ll ever eat!
Hey Ken, there’s a really nice local sub shop in Scarborough, called Chubby’s, at Morningside and Sheppard… it’s the best I’ve had, but I like simple subs. Would recommend

I tried to go to a jimmy johns back when my youngest was a very picky eater and asked for options on sub and they said they didn’t make subs customized per order. I turned and left and have not been back since. And that child is now nearly 17 so probably close to 12 years. I’ve been told they do make them to order now, but still haven’t been back to find out or not. So many other sub chains are better and mom and pop sandwich places so I don’t bother, even though I probably drive by one everyday
Jimmy John’s is pretty good (I usually get the Italian), but I find stuff kinda easily slips out of their bread compared to other places. I definitely prefer Jersey Mike’s, but would put JJ above Firehouse, though that’s only because my one and only Firehouse visit was very disappointing and I haven’t given them another shot yet (which I may do over Thanksgiving vacation).
Hey Ken, just let you know 8 years ago CEO of jimmy johns was caught with photos released of him hunting big game animals in africa in NATURE PRESERVE !! i have boycotted restaurant till this day and continue too over this incident!!

Not a fan if Jimmy Johns. I mean, it's not bad, just not my choice. I find their bread way too dense. They do have some good options though. So far, out of all the sandwich places I've tried, I like Subway's bread and texture the best. That doesn't mean their sandwich options are the best though. I also seen Subway is starting to get away from the build as you go method and adopt the preselected toppings method most of the other places do. Really not a fan of that. I can't stand sauces or Mayo on my sandwiches and it bugs me that I have to make a point to say no Mayo etc. I digress.... I enjoy your videos Ken. Come to northern Michigan some time. So many small town bars with great food, and mom and pop shops!
jimmy John’s is not the same tier as firehouse or jersey mikes! Those two are the best!

Jimmy John's uses Sourdough bread for their rolls. It's a little more chewy but it is a nice change.
