I really appreciate and value your honesty and willingness to have the difficult conversations on your channel. This is giving me a lot of things to consider as I prepare to apply this upcoming cycle and think about how I want my life as a future physician to go. Thank you!

Thank you for your comment! I'm glad I've given you some food for thought as you embark on your journey. Just remember that it is still an extremely gratifying profession [and I would totally do it all over again if I had to!].

Hello! I am a Naval Officer currently taking prerequisites in an attempt to gain acceptance into a medical school. I just wanted to let you know that I have watched tons of these videos trying to form an idea around pursuing medicine and your videos are by far the most informative, clear, and concise on the entire internet. I don't normally submit feedback, but your content is superb and you are very inspiring. I look forward to learning more from you and would love some quick pointers for orientation down the road getting into medical school and matching once I get there (if I get in).
I have been very interested in anesthesia for some time now and I am ready to pursue it in some fashion. I know that you did a video about MD/DO vs. CRNA vs. AA, but I would love for you to delve deeper and highlight the major differences in the roles of each and maybe explain why the "lines" between each role cross or overlap.

Hi Javarri! Good luck on your journey to medicine; as I say in my videos, there are a lot of challenges facing healthcare professionals in the modern era, but I still find my specialty and practice to be incredibly gratifying and rewarding.
With regard to the "lines" - this is something that is highly dependent on the practice locations. It's super variable and thus difficult to create a video broadly covering the topic. I'm happy to share more nuances as you get closer to the process of applying to the specialty!

Amanda. Another great video from you. I am grateful to work with you and also for your honesty and insight. I am going to share this with friends and their daughter who just started UVM and is planning on going into medicine. Not to scare her, but you are helping people go into medicine with their eyes wide open.

I always thought that I wanted to be a doctor and the reason why I chose not to pursue medicine is because of the time it takes to become a doctor , cost for the schooling and , the politics involved.

Thank you for your comment! It sounds like you made a very informed decision not to going into medicine. It's definitely a career that requires sacrifice and thus the decision to pursue it should not be taken lightly!

@@AmandaSXiMD you’re right, my brother in law is a doctor and it took him almost 14 to complete all of his training, now it seems as all he does is work. Nothing wrong with working I just think that you lose so much time.

Awaiting the Match and dreading the stress of intern year, but also excited. The love of helping people i feel has to be very strong in anyone pursuing medicine. If you don’t have some anchoring love like that, then there is NO WAY medicine is worth it. I’m sure there are people still pursuing status, but the joke is on them once they get a taste of the grind of medical school and residency.

It didn’t seem like a very popular video and since I’m finally done with all of my board exams don’t study as much…but I can do a “be productive with me” video sometime!

Eh, I'm satisfied with my future career as an RD. The pay is alright not near as high as an MD of course and unfortunately RD's get very little respect, pfft most people don't even know what an RD is. But it's an easy job and most RD's I've seen get salary pay allowing them to just finish up and leave after only working sometimes like 4 hours in a small hospital, so it's good money if u manage to have two clinical jobs. I think a frkn Chiropractor gets more respect than an RD. 😂 SLPs = Respected, PTs = Respected, LVNs = Respected, RDs...
    You hear that? 🎶🦗🎶
Hahaha, but it's all good. I reccomend people become an RD if they don't want a stressful career. If ur humble and want a simple life then the job of an RD may be right for u.
