Brent says: "when I'm asked if I'd rather be a funny man or a great boss", as though this is a question he gets asked regularly by reporters or talk show hosts. The reality is almost definitely rather that he's asked this by superiors who recognise that his desire to be seen as funny and liked gets in the way of his being even an ok boss. His complete unawareness of this, and reframing in his own mind is so incredibly subtly delivered. Genius.

Chasers had me on the floor laughing, especially when Gareth went home with Paul & Linda The Swinging Couple. Also the aregument that David had with his new boss Neil Godwin was heavy. Either way it was a masterpiece.
I had a boss like Brent. On my first day introducing me to all the staff, he told every one of them that I was much too good for the job, and that I would be showing THEM how to do it. I was so hated before I even started.
It's also rather sweet that they all know the cleaner and want to share the joke with her. As opposed to her being some agency worker who changes week to week.
The way he sat on the desk as she arrived, the way he leans back and lets his crotch be the centre of attention, that sly look up her skirt as he puts the paper on the floor, going in for a kiss goodbye. Pure cringe but brilliant writing. 😂
Man, i owe Ricky Gervais an apology for any comment i ever made online. I was younger and never realized he was the owner of nuclear cringe comedy. I had been played like a fiddle this whole time 😅😅 ive never seen this the office before 😅😂
I guess there was an obvious reason the office was re- done "American" style. (It's rather important, that something you "want" People to watch on the tele , It needs to be funny.)
Steve Carrell is in the absolute awful version of The Office. The US version. Terrible. The uk office is only 2 seasons long with a 1 hour Xmas special and is for ever unforgettable. The US like to have their own versions. They like to destroy tv.
