If you happen to read the comments, this is my daughter. She has taken on all kinds of mountains in her life and with God's help she has always managed to find the passes and keep on trail! She is tenacious, determined, kind, gentle, tough as nails, lover of people and animals (especially animals 🙂) and like her mom and dad, and precious husband, Jonathan, is made whole by God's great outdoors. Words can't quite express how much I love this amazing human. Hike on, Sarah!
She is tough as a Diamond! I’ve seen the Sierra PCT section take down some pretty hard core hikers. She had a tough time, but she persevered. What a woman!
Congratulations! Tried to send a picture of Yosemite this morning... they've had a TON of snow (your favorite)... but couldn't do it... Merry Christmas to you both!
Amazing and incredible Sarah! The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step...That was a tough stretch and I’m so glad you met up with the other hikers sent from above! Blessings and much Aloha ❤ Merry Christmas 🌲🙏💜🌎☮️🌎💜🙏🌲
Hiker Smell - do not underestimate! I gave 5 male PCThikers a 2 hour ride from Wrightwood to Camarillo (ca). The leather seats of my beautiful Dodge Ram pickup smelled like ass for weeks until I finally had to shampoo them!
Do you get tired of being thanked for taking the time to post. Your trip is so beautiful and the commentary along the way makes me feel like I’m there. Thank you so much. Indio, CA just south of Joshua Tree NP.
Doesn’t that feel So awesome to hit a milestone like 1000 miles?! Good job! The part once you leave Yosemite National park is such interesting terrain. Just rock as far as the eyes can see. And of course for you this year it was rock fields covered in snow. No rivers or trees to speak of. Better to traverse it in the chilly spring than heat of summer. You still have more sierras through Tahoe and still lots of snow cuz it’s ski country but once you hit Kennedy meadows you can get rid of the heavy bear can. Wow those burgers are enormous there. I’m sure you enjoyed your time there.
Congrats on hitting 1000 miles! Woohoo!!! As an aspiring PST thru hiker I'm glad to have found you on a day the trail was overwhelming breathtaking yet challenging, and you tackled it!!! Yeah! Also, hey Kansas!!?? Lol Does he have anywhere to follow his journey?
Yeah, I hear you about that f*ing bear canister. My heart goes out to 2023 PCT hikers who will have to take a bear canister with them through the Desolation Wilderness and possible the entire Tahoe area. I loved the Sonora Pass music!

1000 miles! Outstanding
Being too dang stubborn is both a blessing and a curse! Another beautiful video Sarah!
Got to know when to be stubborn and when not to be...but that takes wisdom.

@@TheBlazinBakers You have a place to stay if the Coachella Festival or Stagecoach is ever on the agenda.
Congrats on that part. Must have been a relief. I really wonder how you follow the trail; I never see any markers. Stay well and enjoy Christmas week.

Hi! Thans you so much for sharing your adventure! I will be starting the PCT 2024 april 6th😍 At what time were you at the high sierra’s?
@LisavdVelde I went into the High Sierra April 26th! I wish you all the best on your journey next year🙌🏻✨
Cheese! A sharp cheddar or a ripe limburger.
if possible could u tell me what month it was on the trail at that time with all the snow.
It was May here🙌🏻
Did you miss the new requirement to have a bear canister in the Desolation Wilderness? If so, you lucked out this year.
I did. That took effect in July, I believe. I was there in May🙌🏻
What month did u do this section ?
May
Just contemplating how all that rushing water comes from minuscule snowflakes melting one at a time
I'm sorry, dear, but that first song was Awful! 😃
