I believe that Persona 3 was the first game in the series to introduce the Wild Card power of the Protagonist. Every Persona Protagonist since this game has both the Fool Arcana, and the Wild Card power, meaning they can use multiple Personas. (The Fool Arcana is also the number 0 in a Tarot Deck. Fitting since each Protagonist is a blank slate, and the player makes the choices).
P3 was the first to make it an explicit power of the protagonist, in p1 and P2, your entire party could switch personas. What arcana they were determined how compatible they were with various personas.
That's correct, and to expand on that.. the persona 1 protagonist (Naoya or Jihei, whichever you want) is of the Emperor Arcana, meanwhile the persona 2 Innocent Sin protagonist (Tatsuya) is the Sun Arcana
Fun fact, that part in Persona 4 where your friends got drunk off the atmosphere? Yeah this is the town you went to. They even talked about the school. Also the Kabuto headed dude is the brother of the teacher with the pharoah hat. Hes even referenced in one of the class days lol

There are some small changes in this remake nothing ground breaking, at least so far what I could notice as a old Person 3 veteran. The biggest changes are in the rearrangement of cut scenes where some anime cut scenes in P3 Original FES were replaced with now in game 3D model cut scenes while other cut scenes what were in game in original got now anime cut scenes. Can't wait to see you finally playing this emotional MASTERPIECE! 💙

As a long fan of Persona 3 who played it multiple times I can tell you, you are in for a WILD ride! The emotions you go through in this game are disgustingly good it will crush you but also make you appreciate life and maybe have a self reflection moment and yeah... Can't wait to see your reaction to this masterpiece like the reaction of Pixel Partners, keep us up to date what you think about certain moments in the game after they obviously happen in one of Pixel Partners parts videos.

Ah, this takes me back. P3 FES was my first Persona game, and the first game to pull me into the SMT/Raidou Kuzonoha games. I went backwards from this game and i to P2 and P1 then the Shin Megami Tensei games.
I have a feeling this game is going to be Ali and Evan's favorite of the three modern Personas. It's pretty well rounded in general to begin with in the original and with Reload revamping so many things and moments and characters and just giving it the general polish it's long needed, I have a feeling the issues they had with 4 and 5 won't be very present alongside the positives they liked of both as well. Very excited to see their reactions to the characters and story of this game.
I love how Personas 5 and 4 had Evan and Ali disagreeing over which girl to pursue, but we're only one episode into 3 and they're already in total agreement.
I’m kinda late on this but man your guys channel has been such a fun find. I found it when you were doing P5R and then watched all that, and your P4G playthrough, now we’re at P3R.
For what I know, Persona 3 is within my top 3 favorite Game openings. The dark hour, the gun to the head, the atmosphere, it might even be my 2nd favorite, only losing to Breath of the Wild’s fantastic opening.
I still wish that this game had the og voices, but the ones they have are pretty good... except I still vastly prefer Michelle Ruff and Liam O'Brien as their characters.

Persona 3 is by far my favorite. It has some of my favorite characters, the story is really well done, and the original has my favorite song of all time in the end credits.
One thing that seems to be different from the main game is that you walk from the station instead of starting the game walking into the dorm. Otherwise, short of some wording changes and camera angles, it's more or less the same as the original.

Persona 5, I was very familiar with. Persona 4, I was playing for the first time right when you guys started it. Persona 3, the extent of my knowledge is that I know what some of the characters look like and that the general consensus is this game has the best story in the series. Honestly, that alone is enough to get me interested! (Also, blue is my favorite color, so, y'know... Not biased or anything, but it's looking good)
So far no drastic changes from original (I'm most familiar with FES so I'll use that to compare with reload.) The VA recast isn't as catastrofic as I expected but I'm saving my final verdict after hearing beanie boy and headphones blonde.

lol just came at the right time, just wanted to say one thing: I would advise to put the game's brightness to 3-4 steps on the left, cause on the default, the game has issues regarding Ambient Occulsion so some areas look reaaaally flat with no "depth" whatsoever (shadows ecc), but putting the brightness a little down does seem to almost fix the issue. Found this on reddit
I find it so funny how they're fixed on this "Best friend = chariot" thing. Eikichi from Innocent Sin was Death, Ulala from Eternal Punishment was Star, Junpei is Magician, Yosuke is Magician. Ryuji is the only Chariot best friend character in the franchise.
I’m curious to see you guys check out this. It’s better than trying out the PSP port first…which is weirdly the only way to play the original version of the game in current day systems. With you guys now at Persona 3 (it’s kinda funny how you guys are playing these games in reverse, but to be fair not much of the fandom are caring too much about the first 2 Persona games) does that mean you guys might tackle Persona Q & Q2 someday? They’re basically spin-offs that have the characters of P3 to 5 have a crossover with each other. Sounds like a fun way to ease the tensions of the main series.

You should listen to the npcs with portraits 2 times since they have dialogues even after you talk to them once. You are missing a lot of dialogue if you don't do that.

I’m kinda late on this but man your guys channel has been such a fun find. I found it when you were doing P5R and then watched all that, and your P4G playthrough, now we’re at P3R.
For what I know, Persona 3 is within my top 3 favorite Game openings. The dark hour, the gun to the head, the atmosphere, it might even be my 2nd favorite, only losing to Breath of the Wild’s fantastic opening.
After playing Persona 3 Reload while sick on the couch i guess it's time to check out the first episode in a new series.

I still wish that this game had the og voices, but the ones they have are pretty good... except I still vastly prefer Michelle Ruff and Liam O'Brien as their characters.

@@Dubbel12 Yeah, so far in my own playthrough I notice they've ATTEMPTED to make Yukari less a raging bitch this time around. Likely because they plan on making The Answer a dlc add-on.

Persona 3 is by far my favorite. It has some of my favorite characters, the story is really well done, and the original has my favorite song of all time in the end credits.
One thing that seems to be different from the main game is that you walk from the station instead of starting the game walking into the dorm. Otherwise, short of some wording changes and camera angles, it's more or less the same as the original.

Persona 5, I was very familiar with. Persona 4, I was playing for the first time right when you guys started it. Persona 3, the extent of my knowledge is that I know what some of the characters look like and that the general consensus is this game has the best story in the series. Honestly, that alone is enough to get me interested!
(Also, blue is my favorite color, so, y'know... Not biased or anything, but it's looking good)
So far no drastic changes from original (I'm most familiar with FES so I'll use that to compare with reload.) The VA recast isn't as catastrofic as I expected but I'm saving my final verdict after hearing beanie boy and headphones blonde.
Holy hell I'm still trying to catch up with the last few playthroughs but I'll be dammed if I miss my favorite Persona game. Hoping you'll enjoy your playthrough!

lol just came at the right time, just wanted to say one thing:
I would advise to put the game's brightness to 3-4 steps on the left, cause on the default, the game has issues regarding Ambient Occulsion so some areas look reaaaally flat with no "depth" whatsoever (shadows ecc), but putting the brightness a little down does seem to almost fix the issue. Found this on reddit
(also, the FES version, especially in the dorms, was muuuch more moodier and generally darker overall, so yea a bonus 😅)

I find it so funny how they're fixed on this "Best friend = chariot" thing. Eikichi from Innocent Sin was Death, Ulala from Eternal Punishment was Star, Junpei is Magician, Yosuke is Magician. Ryuji is the only Chariot best friend character in the franchise.

I’m curious to see you guys check out this. It’s better than trying out the PSP port first…which is weirdly the only way to play the original version of the game in current day systems.
With you guys now at Persona 3 (it’s kinda funny how you guys are playing these games in reverse, but to be fair not much of the fandom are caring too much about the first 2 Persona games) does that mean you guys might tackle Persona Q & Q2 someday? They’re basically spin-offs that have the characters of P3 to 5 have a crossover with each other. Sounds like a fun way to ease the tensions of the main series.

You should listen to the npcs with portraits 2 times since they have dialogues even after you talk to them once. You are missing a lot of dialogue if you don't do that.
