I was searching for a laptop for the last two months to cover my needs and I finally found this. From the 90hz oled screen with the great keyboard and speakers and the amazing performance from this new cpu, just near perfect overall laptop.

Yes. There already reports on reddit. It's a bummer because lenovo could easily remedy the issue with a better fan curve.

Will there be a 16" version of this laptop? Currently the only Yoga 16" AMD-model is using low end AMD processors.
I really like the new Yoga Slim 7. Many decisions were made right here (OLED, keyboard, 32GB RAM, 2280 slot and not just 2242, color selection, battery etc). An additional USB-A or mirco SD card reader would be nice (like on my Yoga 7-14ARB7).
I really hope that the fan curves on the Yoga Slim 7 aren't set stupidly like on the new Ideapad Pro 5 (14APH8), which run all the time even though the notebook is below 40°C (is on a cooler with Noctua fans). Very annoying when working.
Top quality I'm happy they have motorola and thinkpad there doing top quality I'm looking forward to making money with that laptop.
I have a doubt regarding colors, is Misty Gray more "silverish", equivalent to classic silver macbook colour? or more like space gray? And Tidal Teal is a bit like green-blue dark gray color?
Misty gray in renders or product images does not look the same, so I'm wondering what color is NOT a "normal Macbook Silver" (I don't like that color), but love space gray... In order to purchase the option that is different from that silver... thanks 😅

I am happy to see that Lenovo made a true MacBook Air killer here. Especially the good speakers paired with the great OLED Panel were a great design choice.

The build quality is great and it's super thin and lightweight.
I love the display and it's colors. Everything looks so beautiful.
Also the performance is great, my electronic circuit simulations run super fast and the fans are pretty silent 🤫
BUT I have one Problem, which I think is a driver/software issue. While using Windows I have this weird screen flickering issue. For example when I install something and the progress bar of the install window moves a bit the whole screen will flicker a little bit. This also happens when you move the mouse over buttons. When the buttons get highlighted while moving the mouse on it, the whole screen will flicker very lightly.
Maybe you can forward this issue to the software team so that this bug can be smashed.
All in all I'm really happy with my machine and if this issue gets resolved this machine really deserves the title of MacBook-Air Killer! :)

What are the Physical difference between Yoga Slim 7, Yoga Slim 6, Yoga 7 slim pro. I would like to know differences regarding to size and build quality. I plan to buy one model to substitute my macbook pro 2016 and I want it to have, at least, a Ryzen 7 7840S/U/Hs (very confused with this SOCs, too), with 780M.

Yoga Slim 7 is built with aluminium CNC on the A/C cover and aluminium stamping on the D cover, Yoga Slim 6 and Yoga Pro 7 are built with aluminium stamping on the A/C/D cover. For the size, Yoga Slim 7 is as thin as 13.9mm and weights less than 1.35kg; Yoga Slim 6 is as thin as 14.9mm and around 1.35kg while Yoga Pro 7 is under Yoga Pro swimlane targeting for pro users, it's as thin as 15.6mm and weights 1.49kg on average. Yoga Slim 7 features R5 7640S / R7 7840S processor and it can play movie up to 14hrs @150nits (R7/16GB), MM18 up to 9.6hrs @200nits (R7/16GB), Battcluse up to 9.4hrs(R7/16GB).

7840S laptop using Fp8 packaging what does it mean for digital signal processing?
Does the screen has diffuse for less glare and the Oled on Asus vivobook look not right because of pixel shift to protect Oled from burn in. Does this screen need pixel shift?
@Lenovo-PC Can you take a macro picture of the OLED Non-touch screen (3k version)? You say it is glass, but does the non touch still have the touch digitiser installed? The digitiser ruins the OLED experience, I already return 1 Lenovo laptop because of it.

Hey! I just ordered one of these, waiting "6 to 9 days" for delivery 😄Can't wait!! Anyway, I've read a few comments on the Internet from people complaining about the fan curves. Some folks are saying the fans kick in way too early (when the laptop is still cool and the Ryzen 7 7840S doesn't need to be cooled). Is this true? Any chance of making fan-curved more flexible in either a future Windows update or BIOS update? Some people are claiming it's the m.2 drive that is generating all the heat... Anyway, I'll have mine soon, will test everything out very thoroughly 😉

I recently bought a slim 7 and I am very happy with it. But every time I open the screen further than 90 degrees I hear a small crack. Is this normal ?
Update: The touchscreen started freaking out after a month or two, when I didn’t even touch it (likely due to a high pressure point in the screen). I contacted Lenovo support, and it was a hardware issue. They replaced the screen, and it fixed the issue.

How’s the fan noise?
@@PlatinAviation You can hear the fans spin up when you are doing intensive tasks or when you are fast charging, but unless you use performance mode, the laptop stays pretty quiet.
The battery life is really good, the OLED screen is awesome, and the speakers amaze me every time I play a movie or music. Overall, a very good laptop apart from my issue with it.

Is this specific model available in the US? I don't see the 14.5" (2023) listed on the Lenovo web site. As an aside, Lenovo's branding, SKUs, and model naming is so unbelievably confusing and inconsistent.

I bought it, but thinking of returning it due to high frequency noise of the fans. Does anyone else experience that? Is there a workaround? It would also be an option for me to replace the fans, if there are any kompatibel fans with better quality. The yoga slim 7 in combination with the Frore AirJet cooling would be a dream. For now I ordered the yoga pro with 7840hs and without dedicated gpu in addition to be able to compare noise levels. The yoga slim 7 is so close to perfect, but the high frequency noice is really annoying 😢

Dude - as a product manager, you've done an extremely good job with the Yoga Slim 7 gen 8. However, please make a future version has 2 RAM slots, removable WiFi module, and a non-glossy screen 😉 But congrats on finally making a laptop that has speakers comparable to MacBooks!!!

Colors look atrocious on a non glossy OLED screen, that's a terrible idea and it will not sell well. Want a matte screen? Put a screen protector on it. Yes to the RAM Slots and WiFi though.

@@Joker-iq6zd there is just a special colour for the laptop called “sunlight reflection” which is dark blue and orange highlights and keys backlight, only available in PRC. Very pretty. this has nothing to do with reflections on the laptop screen, which are probably very very bad due to glossy finish coating of the OLED, but really, who cares… if you don’t want replacerions take a yoga 14 pro, bright IPS with matte finish, same cpu.. 👍

No, they are not. USB-C can do 2 to 4 times the bandwidth of HDMI via DP. Just get a usb-c to hdmi cable if your monitor is so bad that it does not even have USB-C.
