It’s good to see him pitching and pitching well, as long as seeing his velocity being in the low to mid 90s. I don’t think this says anything about what will happen during the regular season just yet, but it’s still very good to see. He looked good, now we just have to see whether he’ll continue to look this good.
Yankees need to acquire another pitcher through free agency or trade and then sign Soto to an extension at the end of the season, but if everyone is focused and we find a way to stay relatively healthy, the Yankees could be really good this year * fingers crossed *

I’m not seeing the “fire” lit under Stanton’s ass yet. Yeah he made contact. So he’s doing what his contract says he SHOULD be doing all along. But his lucrative contract he has says he needs to be doing a hell of a lot more than that. None of his balls got close to leaving. And his hits weren’t any harder than of the AAA hitters that came in. Hopefully he wasn’t putting 100% in his swings right now and just playing the contact game because of his health. So far, I’m going to say he is still a BUST. If he wasn’t getting paid so high i wouldn’t have expectations like i do the bust of Volpe. He’s trash too but he doesn’t make me upset or have expectations cuz we all know he won’t get much in a contract. Stanton on the other hand is keeping a TON of money away from players that can contribute and I’m afraid his salary will effect us keeping Soto long term. So that’s another reason
