Props to little sister for being a good sport. She was way better than I thought she would be. AND she had the confidence to show off her English skills to thousands of people. Smart kid.
English is so hard cause it isn't phonetic. And even the most common spelling rules have so many exceptions. I ran into this problem with learning to read Korean and Russian but it is no where near the level of English. Respect to everyone learning English 🙌🏽
Yes! I remember my friend once said that English is almost like characters in a logographic language because most of the time you can’t pronounce a word correctly just by looking at it😤 But I love English anyway 🤫😋
it depends on you native language for instance, for Koreans it would be much easier to speak (I mean phonetics) japanese than for Russians for me English phonetics is easy 😅
Not sure I’d use this as a sleep video, but it sure is cute to watch you two together. Your English is excellent. Your sister is adorable and boy I’m amazed at her level of knowledge and understanding!
korean is a bit different cause the reason english is so not phonetic is because they used to have rules, but the pronunciation of words evolved but we didn’t change the spelling, so words keep their historical spelling. korean, however, actually has rules but the rules are hard to understand for a native english speaker.
It's crazy to think about how many rules and nuances you don't often actively think about or recognize as a native English speaker once you're way past primary education. Learning fluent English as a non native speaker is really impressive honestly. Your linguistics videos are the best :)
@YaShoom I believe the positive feedback and reinforcement motivates students to continue learning and following a correct answer, the positive reinforcement can help students feel like progress is being made.
I've been trying to learn Russian for the past 2-3 months and i was clueless when you guys were talking in russian BUT I felt so good when you said хорошо like FINALLY I UNDERSTAND SOMETHING 😭😭
You don’t know how inspiring your videos are to me. I’ve just started to learn russian my myself, for fun, and as a swedish girl it’s tough 😅 Even if most of your videos are in english you inspire me to keep learning such a beautiful language as russian. Take care❤❤❤
@LepercTikTokI think it's generally not a very difficult language to learn because of structure and stuff, and there is sooooo much media in English that makes it even easier
we need more of these videos ahh! i love language learning and i’m currently learning russian. ur vids rlly help me learn slang and things like that. this video is rlly relaxing and ur sister is so cute and honestly a gem. i love the switching between russian and english, its adds variety to the video. ngl i dont know english grammar myself bc it was my first language and idk it just spawned in my head so these vids are lowk useful as well lol. u and ur sisters whispers are so relaxing!
This is very wholesome :) You're a great teacher and Anya is a smart cookie (and brave to join you on camera)! I haven't watched it all yet but am new to your channel :)
I wish i would have been a older sibling like this to my little sister…you two are lucky cherish eachother ❤️ its little moments like this that make the best memories
@@kilerqueer that means your teachers failed you LOL - the goal should be to know *why* "something" is "something" so that you can adapt and learn more on your own, not just inform you that "something" is a thing and "that's just the way it is".
@@torlakkarstad4251While I agree with you, I also believe that most people aren't inclined to learn their native language but pay more attention when learning some other language. For example, a native english speaker might feel learning about English grammar and sentence structures as kinda pointless since they already know how to make meaningful sentences even without knowing the actual grammar behind it but the same person would be conscious and pedantic about the sentence structure, vocab, grammar etc. when they're speaking some foreign language - from what I've observed in myself and others around me.
Idk how long shes been learning English, but she is doung very well! English is an unnecessarily comples language lol and i wish her luck on her learning journey 😊
This is extremely impressive. As a native English speaker (and I think around the same age as your sister) I could never dream of learning a language as difficult as English right now lol
This is so interesting to watch (as an english person!) - all I am thinking is I could not do / understand this and learn another language 🤣 i studied Spanish at school but they do not teach us very thoroughly and not many people try hard - perhaps because we know how many others learn english (so this makes us lazy which i think is sad) it seems sooo hard, well done to you both 👏
I am so late But thank you for another video full of comfort and tingles with your cute little sister And oh my gosh responsible older sister/ a teacher role looks good on you Stay warm and safe
Loveeeee this video!! I wish you could do some form of like subscription where we don’t get ads 😔 also would love to see a video of you guys talking about what its like to live in russia or maybe like a day vlog, that would be so interesting!!
I hate english😭 the spellings + grammer are so confusing at times. I've been trying to learn Russian too for the past 2 years, and I'm ashamed to say I can barley read it and even less understand someone speaking it. I might quit trying to learn.
lol guys I just noticed her sos signs, she is a goofball 😅😤

This gave me a lot more appreciation for just how difficult English is to learn! You’re both so intelligent.
I'm from England, and I have to say your teaching method is brilliant, any student would be glad to have you as a tutor.
🥰🥰🥰
Sorry, what is the peculiarity of this method that distinguishes it from others?
Thank you.

i remember learning comparatives and superlatives in spanish and it was so difficult. i can’t imagine how difficult it is in english! great job!
