I believe most outlets have this same strategy to be honest . I’ve personally noticed the bags that are overstock/clearance sent to the outlet are different in quality than those made specifically for the outlet.
Thank you for sharing your experience on outlet lines. I think it is fair for the price but seeing that $398 full price next to real $89 makes you think "it must be good as it is from a brand name and on a steep discount" which is misleading.
@@huskeyfosterfail4980TK Maxx isn't an outlet it sells stock that designer brands cannot get rid of, there are plenty of videos of how TKMaxx gets its products. MK is such a fake brand that spends a lot on their ads and models but not on their product's quality. Even in retail stories, it feels the same as if you are in their outlet store. Maybe the quality will improve since Coach bought them. It’s all so plastic cheap feeling their saffiano and pebble “leather” that they only using. @tanner.leatherstein the regular line is 🗑. I had to replace a $500+ bag bought from their store 3xs under warranty just for the handles to peel again. I think Prada has good Saffiano.
Michael Kors has two brands. A. Michael Kors and B. Michael Kors by Michael. Brand A is the expensive one that you see in high end stores. Brand B is what you see at macys and low end outlets.
Looking forward to you doing Furla next. My mom and sister love the brand. Despite owning Chanel, Hermes and LV bags, they still use their Furlas quite regularly, because they find it durable.
I heard that the products sold at the outlet store were specially made for outlets only. It would be interesting to compare the leather quality etc of the products from outlet stores and regular retail stores.
Got a few MK bags from Macys. Now, I don't know if they're from the outlet or not but I've had them for over 10 years now and they're good as new except for one of the straps where the edging started to come off. In saying that, it's all because of wear and tear. I've used that bag the longest among them. Will I buy MK again? No. I prefer my coach bags.
Do Tory Burch next!! I love the feel of their leather and most of their bags feel pretty solid for the price. And they often have sales. Honestly, your bag ripping videos are like therapy at this point LOL
😮😮😮 🤯 I’ve always felt like their leather bags felt fake… and let the social media influence me their ok… Can you do Kate Spade outlet and Coach outlet next or Tory Burch Outlet?.. please? TIA ❤
The quality must vary depending on style. My daughter has two Michael Kors totes, one from an outlet and one online, like the ones you see in the outlets, and they have endured A LOT. One was used for school for three years until she graduated and she loaded it up so heavily with books I couldn’t believe she was actually able to walk to school with it. The straps, corners and zipper all held up. Same with the other one she uses for travel that gets packed with a laptop and stuffed as much as it will take. I have a few different bags that I bought because they were so cheap but looked good, and they have looked new forever despite lots of use. They’re not the most exciting bags, but they’ve proven to be solid purchases.
I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
Hello Tanner. Love your work. I have a question. I have some 25year old bags and the lining is peeling. Is this fixable or is it worth it??? I live in rural Ireland. No cobblers near me. Is it worth driving 1.5 hr to be told its not fixable????? Please tell me what you think.... These are both guccis.
Thanks. We don't get as many outlet stores in Australia as you do the US but I happened to be in a Michael Kors one yesterday. I walked in and walked out 30 seconds later - the bags were absolute garbage. Very cheap and nasty. They wanted $140 for a Saffiano card holder - probably worth about $5!
Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
I would love to see a deconstruction of Coach retail vs Coach outlet. I’ve always been curious to know if the outlet store products are of the same quality as their retail store.

i am really concerned now. i want to get my girlfriend a nice totebag for christmas. Since she does prefer more understatement pieces, i haven’t look at mk in the first place. I ordered a coccinelle and the leather quality is really good. The problem is, that the bag is so soft, that it collapses if it’s placed on the floor. That’s why i also ordered an mk jet set tote. It’s much more sturdy and has a lot of pockets inside. It says that it’s saffian leather. Maybe someone of you has experiences with the retail bags of mk. Is the quality of the leather fine? It should last her a long time for everyday use

I will only buy past season bags from high end designers. IE not 'mass' made but just didn't sell for 5k so they sell for 3k like botega, YSL, faragamo, Prada. I avoid outlet separate shops like coach, Gucci (unless its runway/past season), kors, Kate spade, Tory Burch. You just have to know your brands and what you are looking for.
