Cody played against my son in high school, he doesn’t look like he is running fast , but every season he would have 2000 yards , number one in the state , he motivates the line to block , because they know he will get yards.

There's a difference between fast and quick. For example from a dead stop run 40 yds. and get a time, but what about if you're already running and then turn on the burners. Very different.

It’s hard to sniff an NFL field. Roster is only 53. Plenty of good players don’t get on the field. That’s how you see guys come out of nowhere once injuries start piling up

We’ll find out about Cody when full contact starts. He has elite contact balance, and vision, the kind of traits that help adjust to the NFL game. My bet is he makes the squad making a very talented veteran available for trade. As for Guerendo, I think he is a Shanahan gadget in the first year. He could well be an HBack, taking pressure off TE2

In the college highlight compilations I saw, it looked to me like Schrader was as fast as Guerendo. And was more polished.
Agree. The film on Geurendo is pedestrian at best. Schrader looks like a bulldog.
Didn't see any film suggesting that Guerendo should have been drafted at all.
Also, Guerendo doesn't look as fast as his time while Schrader plays MUCH faster than his 40 time.
Schrader is NOT CMC, but when I've watched him, he also reminded me of a poor man's CMC. He's also moving forward. Seriously doubt they'd risk trying to get him on the practice squad if he's showing well in camp. He could definitely be the guy who slides into that spot in a couple years.

@@AK-qo6tx Yep. He didn't show as much in the preseason as I thought he would. Reports from camp said he was often a tick slower than expected. Still had a few flashes. Maybe he'll have a chance to do more with the Rams.

It sounds like an excuse, but what I've heard is that Schrader was nursing a soft tissue injury at his Pro Day. I can't remember if it was a hamstring or a groin or what. So, that 4.61 time might have been him gutting it out with a leg injury, which means he might be more like a 4.4 or low 4.5 kind of guy when healthy.
He will end up on practice squad and get the call every time Elijah is out. Which is pretty much every week

Yeah At least Elijah has Some NFL stats,and is currently Healthy - if They really like Cody- This would be the best time to move him for a pick or another player at a position of Need....Ain't gonna lie Cody looks like a Beast on Tape. And was best RB in SEC last yr. Elijah was undrafted I believe,plus I'd like to see more of J. Mason if anything....

I'd rather not have to play against a back like Mason or Mitchell.

Purdy knows how good he is - They played against each other in highschool and Brock had to put 70 points poimts up to beat em- But Cowing broke the state record in that game , and his team scored 50(oh shite im talking bout J. Cowing) yeah cody is good too....😅 True Story 😊
FYI 40yrd dash is a measure of acceleration not top speed. In a outsidezone he already is accelerated. Comming out of the blocks is detrimental to the 40, if ur already rolling then that’s different.
RBs aren't at full speed before their cut on an outside zone. You have to be patient and explode through the hole. Raheem was one of the best I've ever seen at shifting into that next gear after the cut.
9ers are re-stocking the future (backfield) cupboard: IMHO Schrader = CMC, Guerendo = Juice. Also, Mustapha = Greenlaw. He has coverage skills, and great closing speed and tackling. Not world-class speed but more than enough (with his instincts) to be a LB. Built like a rock and loves to HIT.

You could say the same thing about Mason Pline. When you listen to Larry all the time, you hear him gush about certain players to each one of his many guests. He has his crushes, no doubt, but he comes from a scouting background, so that's just part of his analysis. He's often right when it comes to his talent evaluation. He was right about Brock, Huf, JD Mason, D'Shawn Jamison last year, and I'm pretty sure he's right about Schrader as well as Malik Mustapha. Not sure about Pline, but I see what Larry likes about him.

Mitchell cant stay on the field.
He was fit for most of last season but like Mason, hardly ever used. His injury came in the off season.

Kyle is very loyal, he will not let Elijah walk unless its best for him
Kyle has always said that Mitchell is the 2. Have a feeling that Mason could be traded, if he was that good he'd be used more by Kyle. They traded Sermon and he was worse than Mason. Mason probably wouldn't mind a trade, he'd rather go to a team where he can play more often,you would think. Especially if Schrader shows up as well, when the pads go on.
@@iansharp7422 Sermon wasn't traded, he was claimed off waivers. There is some reason Kyle doesn't like Mason. The common narrative is that he can't pass block, but who really knows? Maybe he's got a bad attitude or he can't or won't learn the playbook. I dunno. None of us really knew the situation with Trey Lance either. The Niners are very secretive with how they operate behind the scenes.
@@googleisskynet7312 yeah it's a weird one. Mason did show in a few games that he was a handful for defenses especially after CMC had already softened them up. Danny Grey is another one, they never mention specifics about why he doesn't play but he's also had some injuries that kept him out.
