Incredible find. A few weeks ago my sister got some bills in change. At first she thought it was a counterfeit bill. It tuned out to be a 1957 silver dollar in nearly perfect condition. She gave it to me as part of a Christmas gift.

Ebay and heritage auctions but they charge like 15 to 20% of your sale so it doesn't leave much room for profit.

of the silver certificates I have are one 1935, seven 1957's with one being a star note and one $5 from 1963. they're only worth face value, but I keep them because they look cool.

Clearly, if a silver certificate is valuable, it is rare. Thus it is rarely encountered, and is not something the average viewer will ever find. The typical worn $1 silver certificate might retail for $1.50, but if one goes to sell it, one might get almost nothing over face value.

I actually found a $50 Note that has a Black Seal instead of Green! I took it to a Big Coin Shop to be looked at. The Boss said it could be a DDO or Double Inked to give it the Black/Turquoise Color. The Serial Numbers also are black.

I noticed on the first star note shown the star was a full star (colored completing filled in) and other notes are an outline star. Does this make a difference of value? All of mine are an outlined star

I have a silver certificate from 1935 series E ... It does not say in God we Trust on it. I also noticed it appears to have been mis printed. There is a black line printed on the top face and a larger gap and the lower gap is very small. I'm trying to figure out its value.

Why aren't they worth the same value (per ounce) of silver that they were worth when they were bought? I thought that was the point in buying a silver certificate? The government has screwed people over with this. A one dollar silver certificate bought in the 1930's should be worth about 18 times that amount today, based on inflation. Regardless of the numismatic value, the actual value shouldn't change.
A quarter from the 1940's has a value of over $5.00 today, because of the silver content that was in the quarters back then. Why did the paper money lose its value? It appears that the gov't has stolen from the public again.

Unless it's crisp and almost uncirculated and/or has a unique serial number, it's worth $1. 1957s are the most common and many dealers don't even buy them.
