Excellent work! Both in modeling and camera work. I'm especially impressed with the "cab view" at 1:00 where we wait for the coal drag to clear the main! Bravo!!!
Fantastic job, thank you for sharing the fine detail you have labored, put untold hours into design and work of building, painting and weathering everything in this fine layout.
Amazing layout. Loved the way you filmed it, especially when you had to stop the camera car for the coal train to pass. Excellent sound. Your city scenes are some of the best I've ever seen (and that's a lot). Looking forward to your new vid. Thanks for sharing.
That is truly amazing! I really envy you, not just the superb layout, but your astonishing ability to produce it! This is so evocative, and charged with atmosphere, that you almost expect the engineer to wave as he passes you! Thank you so much for posting this.
@BTCRAIL101FILMS it means what it implies. the model for the most part is actually made of brass. These models are usually of rare or exclusive to one railroad prototypes. The detail as you can see is usually extremely good which along with the fact of the material used, usually drives the price up close to $1000 (also depends on rarety of model, company who produced it and if it is available in plastic)
I notice the exhaust is synchronized with the side rods on your locomotives. Well done, you don't see that very often. Beautiful layout, really captures the atmosphere of the Ohio Valley, I know the area well.
Love this HO scale layout. I think the lighting AS IS adds a great sense of mystery to the tour. I was in HO for maaannny years, but now in O Scale. I hope you will take a look at this video of my small Ironbound RR, which is O Scale 2-Rail and around 3 walls of my garage...have had to resort to all kinds of tricks to get the appearance of a large layout: LIFE ON THE IRONBOUND and A Ride On the O Scale Ironbound RR
Excellent camera work, beautiful buildings, I love the point-of-view shots riding the locomotive. I wondered how the camera would go into the tunnel, and you cut the shot just before it did. Of course. You might try putting the camera on a flat car ahead of the locomotive and go into the tunnel. And maybe get some big blue poster board to cover the windows. Just a suggestion. And really good sound. Thank you.
That is one superior layout. Nice detail. What's the reason for hauling loaded coal drags in both directions at 2.00 and again at 3.10? I'm guessing it has to be something to do with prepping and sorting, rather than being too lazy to unload them at the end of the run.
IDK if TH-cam is aware, I've never seen this problem before, but at the end of this video , 5:06, the screen went black, and the counter kept rolling... It was up to 5:48 before I stopped it, I took a screen shot, if anyone needs to see it... Otherwise, great video!
I can't help myself I have to ask How many pieces of motive power do you have...You are either the greatest stager cause your videos are GREAT...or you have a heck of a lot of motive power
absolutely beautiful... lay-out design and detailing, collection, all. Is that Bachmann 2-6-6-2 able to pull the unit train from one level to the next? How much is the ruling grade? (reason I ask, somewhat obsessed by pulling power, I'm in lay-out planning stage, weighing maximum train lengths against percentage points of incline - or maybe just one level and no grades at all.) thanks!
Great Video, Great detailing I am starting a new layout, would you detail a Walters' "Union Station" or pull in on a layout as it comes in the box. Any ideas would be helpful
Is this based out of Wheeling WV? I'm in the southern part of the state, and I must say..this is beautiful...especially 3:27 to about 3:40 from the old utility wagon crossing the wooden bridge to that little church just outside the Cabin Creek Mine. It really captures the era and the essence of this poor industrial state in the 40s. I just won a coal fair with my modular train because it showed the real way coal is transported (I'm a science teacher and my students built and entered the train..
This is show layout, excellent modeling, and operating layout, but not an operational layout in that the trains are proto type in there movement. Many parts staged for video if you know what to look for. This is outstanding example of excellence in modeling.
@dferg100 I'll take my steamers to the grave, especially my brass, but if you plan on selling that N&W Z1B and the K3 let me know, I'm in the market for those engines
Very nice. I'm building bench work for my On30 layout. Mushroom design, two levels with a helix. I have videos posted on my channel if you want to check them out. Lots of train videos too.
Wow, what an incredible layout! 🚂
I think I'm there! GOD bless you and the hands that produced this masterpiece!
Beautiful layout. Love those sound equipped steam engines.
Excellent work! Both in modeling and camera work. I'm especially impressed with the "cab view" at 1:00 where we wait for the coal drag to clear the main!
Bravo!!!

Still impressive a couple of years after I saw it the first time! GREAT city scenery and attention to detail everywhere. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful cabride, like a little fairytale of its own.
Amazing layout. Loved the way you filmed it, especially when you had to stop the camera car for the coal train to pass. Excellent sound. Your city scenes are some of the best I've ever seen (and that's a lot). Looking forward to your new vid. Thanks for sharing.

Spectacular!
Amazing! All steam, too. My favorite era.I love the total lack of internal combustion power on your layout. I hope you keep it that way! :D
I notice the exhaust is synchronized with the side rods on your locomotives. Well done, you don't see that very often. Beautiful layout, really captures the atmosphere of the Ohio Valley, I know the area well.
Excellent video!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very impressive layout. I just subscribed and am looking forward to see other videos.

@lennyos Thank you! I did know that the models were made from brass but never in high quaility and so rare! :)
I can't help myself I have to ask How many pieces of motive power do you have...You are either the greatest stager cause your videos are GREAT...or you have a heck of a lot of motive power

Wow, I did not even get beyond 10 seconds and I already like it! How did you do your city scene?
That's just great! Can I ask what camera you mounted to the train?
SICK!!!!!!
What sound system is that? I could use that, also LOVE the WM I2 :P i wish i had brass steam engines, need new steam engines that aren't bachmann
Thanks for sharing. That POV was awesome. Great layout. How long did it take you to build it?
Awesome!
thanks

Very nice!!
What's the scale of the houses and trains etc?
Great layout!! Do you model a specific region or railroad? How long have you been in the hobby?
Thank you for sharing all your hard efforts...! Is that a Big Boy model towards the end of clip?
@marblehamburger no, I work in a bodyshop at a new car dealership
@1975grandville Thanks, I change my mine every year, about 15 years
What does it mean when a model is "Brass?" Does it mean that the model is specialy made or is like a higher stander of what the model is? -Thanks!
wow thanks a lot
I can only like it once, darned TH-cam
Well said!
This is show layout, excellent modeling, and operating layout, but not an operational layout in that the trains are proto type in there movement.
