This is fantastic! How incredible bringing the whole town together and sharing in the joy of baking! My grandmother passed on the passion of baking to me, and I honor her every Christmas by making her German checkerboard cookies
Absolutely love this story! Warms my heart on a chilly Winter morning❤! I live in Wisconsin USA, but travelled in Norway in 2013 including Bergen ~ Norwegian heritage❤😊
Thank you for sharing! Norway was so beautiful and we barely scratched the surface. I'm so glad you enjoyed our video. Merry Christmas! ~ Samara from Somebody Media
This is such a great tradition, and so nice how anyone can join in. Good to see a relatively new tradition become so important to the community! It shows we can still build community if we try. ❤
Lovely to see Bergen in Wintertime. I love to see you people has such a nice and Warm community. It Warms my Heart to see this. Thank you for showing us. It is so needed thies days people working together in harmonie.
In so many ways, this is a fantastic video. Beautiful scenery, history, bakers and families. I have added this to a few playlists and shared on social media and private messages. All delighted. The bakers and their art work is splendid, thank you very much. Working together reminds me of my childhood when we were not isolated. Greetings from New England, USA.🌲
I learned how to make Pepperkakor in 1972 from my Swedish friend Elizabetta Otterland from Sweden. She taught me to use melted hot sugar as the glue. It's a huge family tradition in my family. I even make the dough to send to my grandson. It's the clove that makes it.❤😂
I just loved this!! And what a beautiful place! Makes me proud to have Norwegian ancestry from my mother's side. ❤ Thanks for this! - - also, where is "The History of Christmas"? I didn't see it on your website. 🤔
Thank you so much for sharing and I'm glad you enjoyed our video! Thank you for asking about our documentary, I've updated the video description so others can see, too-- we hope to release the final project "The History of Christmas" December 2025. Merry Christmas! ~ Samara from Somebody Media
It’s sad. In America where I live- we can’t get along long enough to do something like this. I miss the Christmastime in other countries because people don’t try to foul up displays- there is no fighting over crafts. In America people get pissed off over parades. Why people just can’t appreciate the season. Ugh.
Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts. We are in America as well and found the community of Pepperkakebyen very refreshing. Take care and have a Merry Christmas! ~ Samara from Somebody Media
Liberty Scott, apparently, you didn't see the Syrian migrants purposely parading through Christmas markets throughout Germany? Is that getting along, or is that spitting in the host country's eye? 🙄
@SomebodyMedia You're welcome! It is a pleasure to watch your creativity as you create a work of art. Thank you! Merry Christmas! Greetings from Belgrade,Serbia! 😊🥰🙏🎄☃️❤️👍
It would be nice tradition, but there are victims, I bet they use butter and eggs and these industries are incredibly cruel to cows and their calves and hens. But you can make vegan gingerbread cookies, I made them today. Please ve compassionate, IT IS easy nowadays
Thank you for this wonderful adventure.
Thanks for letting me be a part of it.
Great job!!❤
Dawid, thank you so much for sharing your heart, knowledge, and talent with us. Wishing you a Merry Christmas! ~ With love, Somebody Media

Animals are for the humans, including for eating, not the opposite. That's how God created life, nothing cruel.
