these big stars should consider a pay cut if they want their team to have a chance at a ring, don't put the blame on the GM when your salary takes 35% of the salary cap
LeBron literally did this in order to sign Klay Thompson in the off-season so it's not like stars don't do this, it's just most of them aren't THAT unselfish (besides Brunson of course)
We are criticizing them for taking money over multiple rings but we would prolly do the same if we were in their position. Curry and lebron have nothing left to prove. Phoenix cant contend and get a good team cuz of Bradley Beal’s contrat and the bucks did their big move already Giannis taking less money wouldn’t make such a big difference because nobody they need will sign in free agency in a market like Milhaukee unless it’s a bench player so basically no need to take a pay cut for the stars
Out of these teams, the bucks are definitely the outlier. 4th in net rating, 5th in offense, and 3rd in defense as of now (alteast I believe) Dame and Giannis are clearly developing chemistry, and it's starting to click.
For some reason NBA draft picks don't hit like NFL 1st rd picks. Compare the 2024 NFL draft class to 2024 NBA class. It's mind blowing, that's why teams don't value them as much.Teams are trading 3 or 4 first round picks in the future.
@@captainzursee3071Also not a good comparison because half of the first round picks in the NBA are 20 and under and drafted on potential while NFL players are expected to be good pretty soon (and if they will become elite they are usually really good to start)
I think the Lakers and the Bucks actually have favorable positions right now, all things considered. The lakers are the #5 seed in a stacked western conference, and the Bucks have made an impressive comeback considering their start to the season. Although there are certainly teams that are better than those two, I wouldn't count out the Lakers nor the Bucks in a seven game series. The caliber of superstar players on these teams rise to the occasion in the playoffs.
@@noahlackey6067 I never claimed the Lakers would win a title nor are they favored to finish top 3 in the west. However, I did say that the lakers could cause teams trouble in the playoffs. I think they definitely have the potential to upset a team with a better record.
@@brammy484so what though? you’re the lakers its not an achievement for a team of that size to be getting an upset. if you’re not hanging a banner it’s not a successful season

The new rules with the aprons are going to make players and teams make some hard choices. Players can win a championship or go for the money but not both. OKC and Houston seem to have figured it out. The Lakers are pretty much doomed unless they get players to come there on the cheap(unlikely). The Suns and Warriors have some stars but it appears depth is far more important these days. The rules are changing too. There is a lot of talk about de-emphasizing the 3 ball and letting things get more physical. The "Big Three" is out and the "Solid Six " is in.
You would think teams would stop trading the future away for an aging star after the last few years of it not working at all. Dame set the Bucks back and he isn't a guy that can be a first or second option on a championship team just to far past his prime with bad habits that can't be broken this late in his career. Jimmy Butler could be the guy that couple possibly put a team into a championship but he said no to Memphis and that's one of the few teams he could do that with.
Franchise players asking for help, but they had no problems getting their bag. Shows how unselfish and committed Dirk was when he realized he was in the twilight of his career and took less money. I think Brunson is the only star to have done this recently.
The silent Rockets disrespect. 😂 Put AD in a Rockets jersey with the Hornets and Nets next to him. Not mentioning the Rockets with the young talent teams. Damn. 😂
They gon learn the hard way... We not trading nobody and we not helping the lakers at all😂😂.. They made they old injury riddled bed.. They can sleep in it..
As much as I want the Lakers go contend every season , the only way to do that in today's NBA with the new CBA and all the new rules is to build your core and bring cheap complimentary pieces like the OKC are building... it may take a few seasons but that's the only way to do it ... or that the biggest stars should learn from Brunson and take a pay cut in order to have more cap space for players but when you sign the #55 pick on a guarantee contract and pay over 10 mil to players like Gabe Vincent who isn't a good fit to the team and over 100 mil to LBJ & AD ... that means a few more seasons of play-in/missing the playoffs
Love how the guy that has a career avg of 9-7-6 and was never the second and most of the time not the third best player on an elite team gets so much credit 😆😆😆😆
Warriors really missed the opportunity to get Markkanen, they would have been in a nice spot with him and now they are willing to give Kuminga for less.
These teams crack me up. Who are all these “pieces” out there? Half the NBA is looking for a Piece and there just isn’t enough. Especially when stars don’t play.

And the Warriors can get a HAUL of compensation flipping him to Houston or Orlando now, while those franchises would instantly become contenders for the next 3 years. I say rip the bandaid off now and flip Steph (And Dray) for what you can get. They can't win now.
@@jacobbarnett3514 All it would take is Van Vleet + Reed to make the contract work. Then picks from there. The contract timeline lines up when Steph's ends (40 years old) it's Jabari and Amen's payday. Very mutually beneficial to both organizations.
Truth is that the stubborn Lakers and Warriors will never blow things up and will let their stars go out sad, Ishbia will probably worsen the Suns future before he blows that team up and makes it better. The two teams that should blow it up that I expect to actually do it if they dont win is Milwaukee and Philly.
Honestly never considered the idea of trading curry. Really though he could get another ring if he was traded to a young team and plays the 2. Pairing him with an upcoming PG like Cade or Melo could create a powerful dynamic. Not saying that immediately guarantees a title but easily could bridge the gap for some of these teams that are already displaying their potential to make the playoffs.
Only way Houston should do that is if it's for Dillon and some expiring players with a pick or 2. All young players and Fred Van Vleet are off limits in a KD trade
