thanks so much, was driving to an appointment at a local hospital and the brake light came on... caused a little concern. brakes felt fine, checked the fluid after the appointment and it was full, so I drove home and started to look here, so thanks for this post!
Im having the same issue. Tried replacing the sensor. Nothing. Intermittently my brakes go kind of stiff and it takes a second for my brakes to fully engage. Fluid is topped off, parking brake isnt on. Any ideas?
Oh, that's a tough one. It sounds like your power brake booster might have a problem. You should check the vacuum hose from the air intake to the brake booster, to make sure it's not leaking. And, also inspect the check valve on the booster. It may need cleaning or replacement. Hopefully, you will not need to replace the brake booster. Good luck.
Thank you for your comment. You may have a bad wire or a bad new sensor. I've seen that happen before. An analyzer diagnostic check may detect your problem.
Hi basa is it a bad idea to try to replicate this process on a 2005 grand caravan se? I’m worried about checking the parking brake as it has almost never been used the entire time I’ve had it. Will it get stuck on?
Thank you for your comment. The 2005 may not have the same warning system. However, I would check the parking brake. You just need to unplug the switch. There's no need to engage the parking brake.
@@BasaPete thank you so much for replying! I will try unplugging the switch and see if the light goes off. I hope it is the issue as the brake fluid reservoir is all the way full. If not I will check the reservoir switch as well.
Unfortunately my $70 for new sensor didn't fix the problem. Emergency brake switch is ok. I don't have ABS warning light on. Just the BRAKE warning. Tried pulling out reservoir sensor outside of reservoir and using magnet to manually make the connecting. Still no luck. Any ideas?
I don't know how you were able to get such good video of those tight places but I am amazed. I stacked some pallets on the side of the car and placed a heavy blanket to lay on so I could get my big body under the dash to unplug parking brake switch. Just as yours it didn't fix the help the problem. This week I'll do the master cylinder switch and report. BTW. My car is a Grand Caravan. I didn't look forward to replace a sensor that you had to drain the fluid. Your video took that dread away. Thanks again.

Perfect explanation and presentation, thank you!
Thank you for your kind comment.
Could this cause a break malfunction? I need to press all the way down on the breaks of my 2018 caravan.
Thank you for your question.
Many things can cause your problem. Most often it's air in the brake lines.

Maybe the new sensor is faulty or maybe there is a connection problem.
Check the wires going to it. A some animal chewed through mine.
Thank you
Nice work
Thank you.
I had the light on mine. I went to check it out and some mouse or something chewed through the wires. LOL.
Thank you for your comment.
Mice can make an awful mess. Years ago, I had one chew its way into my heater core.
🤙👍
