Loved this trail! We were just there a few months ago and got completely rained and fogged out most of the way, but it was still such an insane trail, we embraced those clouds and enjoyed it anyway :)
That's wild that you're in Hawaii from Colorado right now. I am as well, although I'm here for work. Managed to sneak in some short hikes on Kauai the other week, going to try to do something in Volcanos National Park on the big island this week, then finally back to Denver.
Did it yesterday morning. Took us 3hrs stopping for short breaks and pictures. I had a 14yr old that does zero exercise and she completed it. Some slippery spots. Take shoes with gopd grip. Take a PnJ sandwich, they have picnic table at the end of trail. We took 2 small bottles of water each and was enough.
Appreciate the correction and as much as I try to pronounce things correctly - I seem to have a knack for butchering the English (and every other) language throughout my videos.
Sweet video. I'm definitely going to hike that ridge in march! I bet it's so much better in person!
Love how fast your channel has grown recently. I still remember when you had 150 subscribers. Great video 👍
Thanks man appreciate you sticking along for the ride 👍🏽
0:45 - Norfolk Island pine?
Looks like a very nice hike! 👍

Agree - the clouds from the summit didn’t detract at all from the hike, was super nice to cool off actually 👍🏽
Awesome video heading here in late may super excited
Nice, enjoy!
Thanks for the vid!
That looks like fun! I'd love to hike in Hawaii!
Such a solid hike - highly recommend. Got a few more from this trip that I will posting soon.

Epic hike, nice shirt!
Long time no see man, hope all is well! Slowly getting back after the swimming after a year+ off - woof.
@@TheVirtualsherpa The only way I can describe my motivation this year is inconsistent.
Someday I'll make it to Hawaii! Such a beautiful place
Is it a one way hike? Or so you go up and down the same way?
Correct - one way, you return the same way you came. Read all about it here www.thevirtualsherpa.com/waihee-ridge-trail-maui-hike-guide/
Hey man, was this a hard hike? I was thinking of maybe taking my parents with me
Think it should be doable for most people, just take your time - lots to see along the way
@@TheVirtualsherpa got it. Do you think we will see great sights just hiking 30 minutes into it? How long did it take you?

It doesn't have anything on the Colorado 14ers!
0:48 likely a redwood sapling, which was introduced to hawaii by colonizers
I was going to say a Cook Pine, but I could be wrong.
With respect, its pronounced Why-hay-ay

Would give a thumbs up if he took the time to learn to pronounce Waihe'e properly
