Ja Rule is the definition of underrated and unappreciated, this man single handling dominate the early 00s all by himself and deserves so much respect.
@@toosweetcallyyy7975 she did, no ones saying she didn't. My point was Ja Rule was writing his songs and literally could've had any singer in the industry to sing his hooks at that time, he was HUGE and the hottest artist out. Instead he put Ashanti on them (a girl no one knew) and that's how she blew up from Ja Rule records. Murder Inc was a family they didn't do that many features outside of the label.

@@itscali619 well, it's not about his records. He wanted to adopt pac's personality and style. Ja wore bandanas, used pac's lines in his songs (in an awkward way), pretended to be hardcore like pac and even talk like pac in interviews. Ashanti is so under rated. She’s been my favourite since the early 2000’s. There is just something about her. So talented, so beautiful. She should be just as big as Beyoncé. She got screwed out of what should be hers.
Well Ashanti was basically a replacement by the music industry for the late iconic Aaliyah. She debuted in this video only one month after Aaliyah's death and the physical resemblance was uncanny. No doubt Ashanti was talented but I really think that's the reason she fell off. Same with Ja Rule and DMX as they were more or less replacements for 2pac. I've been telling people this for years.
Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell type of chemistry. Ja Rule was in his element when Pain Is Love dropped. 361,000 albums in the 1st week & 4 million in a year. Insane. I was in middle school & I can't begin to describe the feeling I had when I listened to this CD in my stereo/discman on repeat. Incredible.
This songs reminds me of my country (Honduras) bc I always wanted to live in New York ever since I was a kid. I’ve been living here over 11 years now. If you make it here you can make it ANYWHERE 🗽
Ah shit I can’t believe Ja is about to come spit in my hometown. 36 and it’s finally happening. Ja, Yin Yang Twins and Ginuwine. Is this a dream? I used to cruise around in mom’s whip (borrowed it) at 3 AM when I was 14 listening to this shit on a cassette tape. I felt on top of the world! 😂

Nah she's not on Beyoncé's level vocal wise, dance wise etc. and she's not an allround entertainer. She did good on those hits tho.
