Few things, if you have a toxic family, warn your partner about them, and tell them your boundaries and what will happen if they break them. If you are NC and they manage to contact you, block them. To check if anyone leaked info to the NC members, give false info to a bunch of people to see who to add to the NC when the NC people confirm with the false info.
The person can also have a court wedding with just the SO's close family present and LATER invite everybody incl toxic birth family to a "reception party". They can't do much harm there surely? Then vanish into some limbo of NC! :)
My family full on toxic. I tell anyone who I come close to never ever ever in a life time meet them. Then the wrinkles crept in. Also because I was a survivor of abuse from my narc mother, I developed wrinkles a little earlier. Sometimes it bothers me but then the whole aging thing pisses me off, lol 😝. Now at 67 I just try to keep my skin happy 😊
