Thanks! We got lucky with a low altitude storm (nimbostratus clouds, I believe) as we drove back down from the Chisos Basin. Amazing sight to see, thanks again for watching!

Beautiful work. I like your approach it is very much like my own in that you are just out there and chasing the light. I look forward to the next adventure.

Thank you very much! At times it feels a little frantic, but it's incredibly rewarding when every aligns. I appreciate you tagging along!

Very nice video, you got my sub! I’ve been struggling with how to incorporate photography into my storytelling style. I really like your approach to it, it feels like you’re taking the audience out there with you.
Nice work, and beautiful photos! 👍👍

Thank you! Storytelling can be challenging, but it's an integral part of our photography and video work. See you for the next one!

Great shots! Love this park, it’s beautiful. Make the 10 hour drive there and 10 back from Houston once or twice a year. One of the darkest skies for stargazing in the U.S.! Can’t wait to head out there next month on the New Moon.

What if we started saying Toot and shoot instead of run and gun.

Another great video. Keep it up. Starting to plan a trip to big bend in late spring/early summer. Nice to see some of the landscape. Anything you consider a must see or do around there? The lost mine trail looks awesome.

Thanks again for watching, Brock! From what I hear, late spring is a great time to head to Big Bend. In terms of must see, Lost Mine Trail for sunrise (sunset falls behind the canyon) but you should also hike to the top to see some great views. Hike up the Basin Loop Trail for either sunrise (what you see in this video) or ideally sunset if you want to see the sun setting in the "window". Hiking up the Basin Trail gives you some elevation to view down the Oak Creek Canyon and gives you some distance from those enjoying the views from the paved path viewpoint. If you are keen, the Window Trail brings you all the way down to the window (about a 5.3 mile round trip).
While I recommend visiting Balanced Rock via Grapevine Hills Road, you will need a 4x4 vehicle for the unpaved road, although I saw visitors making their way down in Toyota Rav4's. Its bumpy. But the trail itself walks you through a canyon surrounded by beautiful boulders/rock formations that would be great for sunrise. I unfortunately went at sunset and the light already passed so I was unable to compose or expose a photograph worth sharing.
Next is the Mule's Ears. This location is an out and back bike and a great sunset location. You will get beautiful light casted upon the rock structures/mountains.
A few other honorable mentions; Santa Elena Canyon is a great spot to check out mid day, its not really a location worth going to for a sunrise or sunset in my opinion.
Cerro Castellan is landmark you wont be able to miss. The evening I went to photograph it was unfortunately overcast (and REALLY buggy). Its an image to capture on a different day.
As you can tell, theres a plethora of sites and trails to see and any combination will be breathtaking and memorable.
Oh yeah, Sotol Vista is a drive up location to catch a sunset. So if you've had a long day hiking, be sure to stop off there.
      See you soon!
