It shouldn't be as easy as dropping into cover two to prevent Chase from getting the ball. I do agree with you on the $25 million DE. I think we have the WR here to be competitive even after Higgins is gone.
Absolutely no hate at all Tyler Boyd will always be an all time Bengal WR for me. That being said seeing him drop the ball at the end of the titans game didn’t make me miss him he same way I do Reader or Bates.
I think they should really consider putting Brown as their starter for running, he's an explosive runner who is able to get a good set of yards most of his carries. They can't keep relying on just their TEs for their gains. They play with Burton was big, we need more of those like we did in 2021.
Yes Chase Brown needs to get the ball at least half as much as Moss. Moss looked fairly explosive too but Brown looked like he was being shot out of a cannon when he got the ball.
You CANNOT trade Tee. Any tagged player can reject any proposed trade, highly unlikely that the Bengals would offer a trade to a situation that Tee would want to go.
Dax Hill has been great in coverage but his tackling has been poor. I don’t necessarily blame him though, he should’ve gotten more reps in preseason (which is a common theme of our team)

Chase really needs to get back to being a dominate WR. I'm sure no training camp has a negative effect, it always does, but how long until he gets up to full speed? Higgins needs to come back asap too bc the offense hasn't been good enough and we prolly 2-0 if Higgins didn't get hurt again
When Kris Jenkins gets better and is ready to play he is a beast against the run and will be able to stop other teams from running it down their throat. Mckinlley Jackson will be able to do that too. Next year BJ Hill will be gone. We should have kept Reader and signed him to a 2 year deal. Reader is making LESS than Sheldon Rankins is in Detroit. We could have kept DJ and saved money. Rankins and Reader are both 30 years old.

In week 1 Dax Hill led the team in tackles. He had more tackles than anyone else on the fucking team. He missed a couple of tackles. The team had 13 missed tackles. 2 of those were missed by Dax. Dax was amazing in game 2 and good no game 1. In game 1 Logan Wilson was elite. I don’t know about game 2 I haven’t checked the numbers yet. He had a 92.5 grade by PFF. That’s higher than Fred Warner was in game 1. Also in game 1 guess which offensive lineman played the best. The best on the team and the best game in his life in the NFL so far. Cordell Volson. He graded out at 79.7 in his overall grade. That is waaaayyy above average. Everyone was at least average on the offensive line. Trent Brown had the worst game of his career and he still graded at 61.2 which is average. Orlando was better at 72.6 in game 1. Karras and Cappa were in the 60’s too for game 1. So the weakest link in that game turned out to be the strongest link. Volson.

Our new TE guardian should not be Dajohn Anthony. It should be either Jordan Battle, Tycen Anderson, or Akeem Davis Gaither. They all have the size and speed to keep up with any TE in the league. Pratt can keep up with most TE’s too but we need him elsewhere. I think the Bengals at least until Jenkins and Jackson can play need to run a 4-3 with 3 linebackers on the field at all times. On heavy run teams like the Ravens I would put Njongmetta in and tell him whenever they hand the ball off your sole job it to stop the person running the ball.
They need to invest in Tee and Jamar and cut out all the extras. Because they put a rookie playing in his 1st or 2nd game ever in who commited a penalty that got DJ Turners interception erased and commited another penalty that put the Chiefs in field goal range on a 4th down play. Without that penalty we win the game. The Chiefs turn it over on downs and we win. Period. Why do they put Anthony in on those plays?? You had Jordan Battle and Tycen Anderson on the bench who could have taken those reps. They are more experienced. Tycen Anderson or Jordan Battle are the best candidates to guard Tight Ends. Why do I say that? Because they are both bigger stronger and faster than Anthony is. Anthony is 6’ 203 lbs. battle is 6’1’’ 206 and Anderson is 6’2’’ 210. Tycen Anderson is almost The size of a small linebacker. Or we could put make ‘em Davis Gaither on TE’s. He is 6’2’’ 228 and runs 4.51 the same as Anthony. I like Anthony and think he will become a good player for us perhaps the next nickel CB after Hilton is gone although I think Newton is better and will Probably take that role. If they had to put a rookie in I would have picked Josh Newton.
