This 6-speed automatic is not the fastest i gearbox, the 12-speed scania gearbox with the retarder (1.00 final drive, 3.08 diff) is the fastest one, you will need the biggest tires you can get, with all this you could reach an easy 120mph downhill. You will also need to start the drive at around midnight so the traffic doesn’t slow you down.
@@AJChimaera bigger tires do change the top speed, because with the same amount of revolutions the tire with the bigger circumference covers more space, and circumference over a certain amount of revolutions per minute equals speed.
The IGT (in game time) category makes using the Call for emergency slower, so you'll want to compare your time to those runs. The WR for Edinburgh to London in that category is 3h50m with a real time of 16m59s, so not bad at all.
Do it in the IGT category, which uses the in-game time, making the emergency strategy slower. The time there is about 17 min, I think it's the funnier category, just driving from A to B as fast as you can.
It’s actually crazy seeing how far you’ve come, I I remember watching you years ago when you was in the shed struggling with mental to health to now living out your dreams, so proud to be apart of the journey ❤️
dvrk's record technically doesn't count as a speedrun, moreso a "skip-run". You should use the Volvo 750HP or Scania R730 with the 12-speed manual transmissions, NO retarder (as that grabs you and throws you if you brake too hard), and use the 315/80 tyres to increase your top speed. I was able to get up to 181km/h (~112mph) sustained in these configs, and 171km/h max (~107mph) with the standard tyres

Sweaty trucksim speedrunner here, love to see stuff like this! Most of us run a downgraded version of the game since they updated the physics a while back which causes huge chundersteer.

jimmer, you are a professional speed runner, how could you take full tank of fuel when doing speed running? really makes me question your professionalism, you should always only have just enough fuel for the run which could provide extra 0.2m/h more than full tank
@@madbull4666 the rules state no such thing, but it also doesn't make any difference that we can tell to the in-game physics, so you may as well just have it full.
I am beyond surprised that ETS2 doesn't have any "No Skip" city-city runs. The only thing closer to that is "NO AI" but the skips are still in it but RNG traffic isn't.
There is this fun route from Moab to Alamosa (ATS), I drove flatbed and would get the same steel pipe job. I tried to get faster and faster time but driving "realistic". This is just a whole new level 😂
If you want more ETS ideas - me and a few friends pioneered something called Jobs Racing - you have a starting city and a finish city, and you have to get their via the random job market, and you're not allowed to use the job market in the menu, so the only way to discover new jobs is to drive to the individual depots. Had some surprisingly tense races, including four of us on the same road in Slovakia, but none of us knowing how far away we were from each other, and making up a 700 mile deficit to win whilst a friend got every single Finnish city except got the one we agreed as the finish line.

The answer to "do people speed run this game?" Is always yes
There is always at least one
so true dude I've seen some really dumb games get speedrun'd XD
