Western airlines are already not flying to and from Russia. The Russian aviation authority so far hasn't concluded that it is too risky to fly to Russia. I don't think they ever will.
One of those that haven't expended themselves by physically intercepting Ukrainian Flying Objects with the system itself. And to those who believe Kremlin's claims that those systems survived the "interceptions" I can only say: _"Liar, liar, Pantsir on fire!"_
And what about other airline companies? Do they think they are immune against Russian incompetency and trigger happiness? Any airline worried about its future reputation and business should stopl flying to Russia. It is not safe. Probably many people from other countries thinking about flying to Russia will think twice.

Birds??? So is Russia so advanced now that even the birds are flying around in the sky with weapons of war???? I see that the value of propaganda outweighs the value of the lives that were killed on that airplane…. You see Russia has a habit of shooting down passenger airplanes with no care as to the human lives that are lost… So yes, by all means led to everybody blame the birds…
Bird strikes are common near the ground. Every airport has a Bird Control Unit whose job it is to scare birds away. That said, birds don't cause shrapnel marks they just smash windscreens or get sucked into delicate engines.
Flights are pre booked in with ATC all over the World. Russia knew this flight was scheduled. Even if the airspace should have been closed, everyone should have known this was a passenger aircraft. All aircraft gives transponder pings, even fighter jets.
The bumbling Russians jammed GPS, as a result of which the transponder sent out flawed data. I suspect they saw a "drone" on active radar, representing the real location of the Azeri E190, but its transponder reading put it somewhere else. In other words, they confused themselves with tragic consequences.
@@peabase In other words, not unlike the time the U.S. Navy shot down an Iranian Airbus A300 back in 1987, after having misidentified it as an Iranian Air Force fighter.
The aircraft was en-route when hit. The loss of hydraulics and the very limited control the crew had over the aircraft’s flight path forced the diversion. The loss of control means that they had no choice but to find a long runway with clear weather if they were to stand any chance of getting it onto the ground in one piece. They did their best, but sadly were unable to control what was now a dead airplane. 😢
I'm sure a lot of airlines are looking at risks now flying over dirty Russia. Look at Russian airspace now compared to before war not much flying in Russia now anyway
Very Very few fly there now. It has become one of the big issues with Russians trying to leave, there are limited flights in and out. Now there will be even fewer.
Who in Azerbaijan did the risk analysis on allowing civilian aircraft entering into a war zone? Who briefed the pilots on airspace restrictions? Who knew there are metal eating termites in Russia? PS - has aircraft black boxes been recovered?
Correction : TAF (Turkish Air Force) did not ACCIDENTALLY shoot russian military aircraft.. It was intenonal and that russian aircraft was shot down since it violated the Turkish airspace against the warnings of coming from a Turkish F-16 which was on patrol.. There was no excuses afterwards! This was only the Russian side’s official claim based on the letter sent by Turkish president.. but the expression on that letter was ‘symphaty and deep condolences’ to the family of killed russian pilot.. nothing more than that..
External means it was short down the reason why they cant say more is because they are not sure who shot it down. Until they are sure the case is inconclusive.
Why…. ? Were there any other operators of anti aircraft defense systems in the Grozny area? Who other than Russia could have shot the aircraft down? Please list all the possible operators who might have shot it down. At both the altitude and location it was hit only systems located within Russia could have launched missiles against the aircraft. The Russians know exactly which SAM battery launched the missile, including who the individual operators were. It was no doubt an error of incompetence and very poor command and control, much the same as at least 3 other accidental shootings downs by Russian ADUs. And similar to the incompetence and poor command and control by Iranian AD when they shot down the Ukrainian aircraft. Incompetent, poorly trained operators operating under bad operating philosophy and procedures.
Well a bird strike would be external too, but it's obvious it was shot down by shrapnel from an AA missile, so no point pretending about the bird strike anymore. Everyone is well aware of who shot the missile.
I’m upset because originally when this story broke, it was reported as being due to bird strike. Immediately after that I saw TH-camrs reporting this as being shot down by Russia. I was confused.
All carriers should be suspending flights. My suggestion to any person planning on flying on a commercial aircraft anywhere near Russian airspace is DON'T!
If you look at radartracking in Europe, all countries have planes in the sky, except Ukraine. Russia is also a warzone. No planes should fly to or over Russia until the war ends.
There have been suggestions of GPS system failure due to Russian air-defence jamming GSP signals near Grozne. So the fact that pilots diverting the course failed to be warned of the possibility of getting to close to the area in which Russian air-defence systems have been activated seems to be pointing us in the direction of high likelihood of GPS system failure prior to the moment when the aircraft has suffered any form of "external factors impact". So yes, it may all be due to a compounding effect of various factors: ongoing Russian air-defence actviation due to high drones attacks acitivity near Grozne, intense fog hence typical difficult weather conditions as well as so called " fog of war", so air-defence systems overload and failed identification of a civilian aircraft as a potential "hostile military aircraft". Entire incident shall be investigated calmly looking at all these factors.
