Very nice, so happy Matt didn't put low profiles on it. Still would prefer some keystone or Craiger's on it, but the black wheels reminds me of yesteryear. Love it. ❤❤
15s never go out of style. Needs to drop it about 2 inches...just enough to stance it some but plenty of ground clearance still Hotchkiss springs and KYBs will firm it up big time no bottoming out
Awesome, cool truck! Bet youll smoke a whole lotta mopar and stang kiddies with that First st race I had was with a 70s 454 truck 3/4 ton. Geared. auto. From a dig tore my 67 rs a new one . Torque!
It always amazes me how many people try to start a 540 bbc without touching the throttle! that thing needs a couple pumps minimum just to get the intake and runner a little wet.....wow!
A sleeper You should see some of the sleepers driving around in Minnesota with 765 cubic inch engines in Then that a sleeper Not a grandma grocery getter like the Camaro yes it looks really nice but it's got a little compression 540
He can pull a super tall gear and never need more than a 4 speed. Torque is king on the street! Why guys think you need an LS OD EFI to make power that you can drive is hilarious Less is more.
Not really rear drum breaks are much better i have a 77 el camino with the same engine 540 and I use front rotors factory size and rear drum brakes and they work great.
@gordocarbo with a 26" tire (typical on a first gen with 15" wheels)and a 3.08 gear, it will be turning 2700+ @ 70 mph. With the six speed, you can have can use the torque, drop the rpm way down save the motor, and a ton of fuel, plus enjoy the car and run 90+ mph on the interstate and still be able to drag race if you want....
Still running like a champ!
Change the gears yet?
Amazing 😍
Nice to see it in a chassis. A '68 with 666lbs of torque and punishment. Savage

I have a similar setup in my 1978 Chevy BIG10 truck that I originally ordered with a 454. I just installed a 557 that I built.
I'm thinking about building a 598 now😆
@@musclebone7875 go with a 632 😀

I too like the "396" emblem on the fender.... COOL!!
Badass. Can’t wait to get a motor from Smeding for my 87 ss Aerocoupe
A cruiser and a bruiser!
Super clean it go's to 11!
That is so perfect!

Good job! Spicy but Savory, like a good curry, just the right amount of heat!
Awesome build guys
11👍's up EG thank you for sharing
Hi, how do you keep that big block cool tell us about the radiator and fan setup Thanks.
What exhaust setup are you using ?
What gear is in it now light car too
Awesome!
Love these cars
Big blocks are torque monsters 👻

Thats more power than that car could put down as it is?
All can say is nice
Does your 540/730hp hold vacuum for power brakes, ect
Jacked up for mud tires!!!
Cars is nice sure...but that property though... very beautiful!

So sick
Is 540 stroker 502?
No
I thought that left hand turn looked familiar lol
Matt the gun guy TH-cam pays that much
He is going to need a brake upgrade.
Seriously! Them ol drums ain’t gunna cut it
@@hanzyj7021 Unless hes stopping from 90 plus a lot front disc/rear drums are fine.
Not really rear drum breaks are much better i have a 77 el camino with the same engine 540 and I use front rotors factory size and rear drum brakes and they work great.
Needs a six speed manual
He can run a real tall gear with a 4 spd and not even need OD with all that torque,
Beauty of cubes

Matt needs to hook up with Cleetus and get some TBM brakes for that rocket
Cleeter peter beater.
Drive it like you stole it !!
Needs a different exhaust
Flo sound terrrible on most Chevys...took mine off after a few months and trashed them
I think that is really stupid to put a lot of HP and still drive around with drum brakes in the rear.
The engine sounds nice.
Actually has more surface area on pads than discs. Unless hes doing lots of high speed runs/braking discs wont help him
@@gordocarbo Oh ok good to know thank you.
Right
I prefer rear drum brakes keep it simple and safe.
I always cringe when a machinist calls a engine a motor.
