Got a copy for my daughter for Christmas but haven't played it yet. It looks beautiful, but needlessly complex (like far too many other board games). I imagine I will have to invent some rules to make it playable. We'll see.
Getting a bit of Parks vibe which isn't a bad thing at all! I can see that central board space is static - wonder if there's a way to add some variability to it without breaking the balance. So looking forward to the campaign and rulebook :-)
Thanks for your enthusiasm! A variable Park is something we played around a lot with in development, but the results were always too game-breaking. The Location Bonus cards (which refresh each round) add some cool round-to-round variation. Especially if you're playing with the Rerouted Park Location Bonus cards, which close off different areas of the Park.
@@birdwoodgames yup thought as much. Balancing is one of the hardest thing in board games (frankly very few games succeed in this) so I can fully appreciate your effort. I skimmed through the designer diary today and I'm getting some Wingspan + Parks inspiration which I think work very well together - mechanically but also thematically. Could Dog Park be the next Wingspan? :-P Very much looking forward to the campaign. Thank you.
This game looks right up my street, but I’m so disappointed that the illustration of the Dobermann shows cropped ears. This cruel and unnecessary practice is illegal in the UK, and the Kennel Club (who are the basis of the breeds for this game; very cool!) are very clear that the breed standard is uncropped dropped natural ears 😞 what a shame 😔

During the campaign the Doberman (and three other dogs that had cropped ear illustrations) have been repainted to show their ears in tact. Thank you again for flagging your concern.
