When these comedians were telling jokes, people had a much better sense of humour, nowadays you cannot say anything without someone taking offence, everyone is so sensitive nowadays. That's the EU for you, taking away another of our freedoms IE: speech. We are not in the EU now & we need to scrap a lot of the almost 54,000 rules & regulations they imposed on us since 1990 alone. We should start with putting a gagging order on the bloody PC & woke brigades. Most people under 40sh think anecdotes are jokes as most don't know any difference. I personally can sit through so called comedians like Peter Kay & Lee Evans ETC without laughing once. In fact even if my most favourite comedians tell anecdotes, I cannot laugh.

Saw Mick Miller whilst on a Mediterranean Cruise last month, bloody brilliant, a lot of passengers couldn't get some of his jokes, he looked out to the audience and said is anyone there, I cried laughing. He was itching to use the old jokes but had to hold back, bloody woke 😆 🤣 😂
Ken Goodwin was hands down the best comedian in the country during this time. He was head and shoulders above the rest here, not to mention getting the best reactions. Unbelievable talent, you just couldn't get enough of him.
Back in the day when comedians told proper joke and were funny, and they all tell them with a great big smile on their face, unlike the boring deadpan so called comedians you get today.

I bought the comedian’s dvds during my furlough period and it’s the best thing I ever bought. This is how comedy should be done not like the poor excuse of agenda pushing pathetic excuses of todays so called stand ups. These guys had real talent from a time when people could take a joke and not get offended by any of it.

I had such an awful day yesterday, I downloaded this and spent last night in hysterics, why are comedians today so aggressive and offensive? No swearing here, just good natured comedy. 11:54 Charlie Williams did not have an accent, he spoke like those with whom he grew up. I recall seeing him at Chatham Central Hall in the early seventies. The whole southern audience were rolling with laughter. It was later I realised he was multi talented, miner, professional footballer and entertainer. In his era the attitude to mixed race folk was different to today, I wish I could explain it succinctly, but it was in the era when ,(wrongly) rooms to let would be advertised as not accepting "coloureds" or Irish or people with children or dogs.
I like the way the way the camera don’t turn to the crowd after every joke, looking at people nodding to each other…. And don’t have to use the f word to try and get a laugh

Yeah - I know what you mean. You don’t understand until you’re 50 or over and then all of your parents’ complaints and comments make sense. At least back in the 70’s and 80’s, everyone was fair game to have the Mickey taken out of them. No one was a “protected group”. If you went to see these guys and were anywhere near the front (or git out of your seat), you could expect that they would make fun of you, mercilessly , for the next 5 minutes. Then came the “Red Wedge” in the mid-80’s and only Conservative politicians could be the butt of jokes. Later, they would target a certain demographic (e.g. white van man, Daily Mail readers, Brexit voters) as being stupid and racist. The ones who really get on my wick now are the female comedians (like Amy Schumer) who can only talk about their fannies and having sex. Yawn.
Now that's comedy what happend are we not allowed too have a laugh anymore these fellas won't be beaten as long as we all live God bless them all they made us all smile and that's what they wanted too achieve
I remember being in Manchester ITV studio`s watching the Comedians being recorded. The audience had to clap and applaude before any comedian had even appeared on stage, the studio then recorded the audiences responce to overlay onto shite jokes for tv. Eighty percent of the jokes hit the editing suite floor, thank god.

They were so funny. Had to wear a nappy watching them. I shat myself every time. I laughed and laughed. They don't do this sort of comedy anymore which is a good thing: I save a fortune on pampers.
You can’t get a pure and stronger Yorkshire accent than that of Charlie Williams. It reminds me of an eastender I knew of Indian heritage who spoke with strongest and most authentic Cockney accent I’ve heard. The good old days when British born non whites really did assimilate.
