This was so fun to watch! My 4 year old daughter loves to watch painting videos with me… and then I like to decompress at the end of the day by painting before I go to bed. These tutorials are perfect for both!
I liked that you didn't sketch the tower ahead of time but just went for it. Gives me courage to go for it! I also loved that you talked about overworking and trying to leave more white space.
Just watched this again after about a year as I was trying to remember how to do this again. And picked up some tips that I had missed the first time. Thank you Kolbie!
It looks intimidating!!! 🤣😂 loved that intro, for a beginner yes is intimidating, but I will give it a try. I love this classes small format and a lot of techniques! awesome, Thanks Kolbie!
Im used to paint the skies and clouds in one stroke , wet on wet technique, which makes my skies turn in to green. After seeing your video I know I have to try the wet into dry layers technique! thanks!
I'm late painting this. I felt that I was not going to be able to do this, but I LOVE it!!! In the middle of the lesson, I was sure I was creating a huge mess. It is beautiful! I learned a lot on this one.
🎉 such a great tutorial. The commentary was really helpful, and the way you reflect on things you did well vs things you would change made my own artistic process seem more real. 😅
Thanks for not redoing this and showing us instead where you think you overworked the painting. I tend to do the same so this is a helpful reminder to stop and wait before I go in with more paint. It looks fabulous, btw!
Layering the clouds was such fun. I love in painting that one's brush strokes need only give the impression of something and doesn't need to be precise (such as in the case of the city skyline). It's such a valuable learning point.
This is a fun one! I love the cityscape; it's a bit different from your other challenges but adds great variety. Your honesty about what you wish you'd left out or done differently is really helpful for beginners like me! It's nice to know that even experienced artists overwork pieces and sometimes wish they'd made different choices. You're a great teacher!
Love the pinks. I liked the dry brush clouds. Do you think using masking fluid would help us beginners to block out tiny white space? Overall GORGEOUS Painting.
Wow, amazing to see how the dark silhouettes make set off that bright, colorful sky! Dancing light is one of the things that drew me to watercolor in the first place, and this tutorial series is convincing me... Your book is going on my Christmas wish list!
I absolutely love these challenges. You are amazing. Love your format, you pack in a lot of teaching in a short amount of time. Your hard work does not go unnoticed! Thank you very much.
What a gorgeous painting! I love that you emphasize there is no perfection, but lessons learned for next time. Practice makes for better learning. Thank you!
Thanks for another wonderful video. Lessoned learned, more white space and wait after wetting the paper so it's shiny not wet. Thanks, Kolbie.❣❣❣
❤ love the colors of this 🎉
You are a great teacher. Thank you!
The colors here are beautiful!
This was so fun to watch! My 4 year old daughter loves to watch painting videos with me… and then I like to decompress at the end of the day by painting before I go to bed. These tutorials are perfect for both!
Hah! You were right Kobly! Purple and yellow do indeed make brown! But what a super way to do a distant town like that.
i liked trying a city scape. The sky colors are so fun.
I love this lesson!! It’s so beautiful to have lights and darks like the way you’re showing us!!!! ❤
I love panting with you!
This was the most fun so far!!!! Thank you
Loving the easy going flow of your classes. The new book is really helping me to understand the light of the full day. Thank you!
I liked that you didn't sketch the tower ahead of time but just went for it. Gives me courage to go for it! I also loved that you talked about overworking and trying to leave more white space.
This is my first time trying anything resembling a building! Definitely learned a few things!
thank you!!!
Absolutely amazing lesson with all those vibrant colours and step by step tips.
Really out of comfort zone, but so luminous sky in contrast to the city! I love it!! :)
Super excited to give this one a go!
Thanks again!!
Lovely ❤

Another beautiful outcome. Thanks for talking through what you feel are your mistakes. Those tips are very helpful!
Wonderful! You are so great at making art doable. You are a great artist and teacher!
Finally caught up today! I’ll want to paint all of these again. Learning so much, especially white space!
I really like your sky and the fact that it looks so natural
Just watched this again after about a year as I was trying to remember how to do this again. And picked up some tips that I had missed the first time. Thank you Kolbie!
So beautiful! I love how make things seem accessible to even rank beginners like me.

Wow! That was fun! Not perfect but I had fun not worrying about the imperfections! Thanks 😊
I initially thought this was way out of my league but you've simplified it enough that I will try it. Thank you
I love your sky in this one!
Ohhh this one is going to be challenging, thank you.
Vibrant colours!
simplified this one, but learned so much. day 3 done!
Excited to try a skyline!
Loved this one and loved working on that sky!
I love this one as much as the first one 2 days ago, I will give it a try tomorrow ! Thank you 🌇
Beautiful! I always mess up on the triple color that i have to lay on a sunset sky! This is beautiful! Thanks Kolbie for the step by step lesson.
Love it! As you said, I probably didn’t leave enough white space in the skyline but it was a great learning point!
This is something I have wanted to try. Thank you for taking me there,
Beautiful! When I do this I will try to leave more white space. Thanks for another great lesson!
Can’t wait to try this tutorial- thanks!
This was another tricky paint but I love the lesson. Thank you!
I'm excited to try this sky!

I love it!

I’m here for Day 3!! Sunset is my favorite time of day!! I love walking at sunset 🌅

Your painting is beautiful. Off to try it for myself
This is absolutely beautiful!! Love the sky & buildings! Ur too hard on urself - this is now 1 if my favorites of yours*
Can't wait to try it - gorg❤
Great tips! I like how you make notes afterwards, I'll have to give that a try sometime.
Thanks for not redoing this and showing us instead where you think you overworked the painting. I tend to do the same so this is a helpful reminder to stop and wait before I go in with more paint. It looks fabulous, btw!

awesome!
I happen to like the additional clouds you added and wished you hadn't. I really love following your sky tutorials, Kolbie!
Love the colours of the sky! I appreciate that you don't redo the projects you just share what you learned.

What an absolute delight. I appreciate your time, your tone, and your approach. Looking forward to The Artists Collective soon...
What a gorgeous painting! I love that you emphasize there is no perfection, but lessons learned for next time. Practice makes for better learning. Thank you!
I have problems with white space also. I also don't like wet-on-wet so I try to avoid it as much as possible.
Beautiful! What is a substitute for gold ochre?
Sadly I have none of the four colors you are using today. 😞 It would be nice to know what colors could be substituted with good results.
@sandi_myedachs here. Love this one, painting it right now! Love your tutorials.
Love this skyline painting!
