Lumen had a heck of a job following Riverdance from the previous year but I think it was an excellent piece.

I watched this live in Ireland when I was 15 and it was a very proud and beautiful interval act, a perfect follow up to the popularity of Eurovision. Simple but powerful.

the guy in long hair among those singers would be future Irish participant Brian Kennedy, he represented Ireland 11 years after this in Athens with his song "Every song is a cry for love" placing 10th in the Grand final

Ireland brought such subtle class, culture and sophitication to the eurovision in the 90s.

It must've been tough for RTÉ to follow Riverdance, but "Lumen" is very proudly Irish and traditional as well in its own way. Also featuring future Irish Eurovision entrant Brian Kennedy!

@@Sanchordia such a weird (and sad) coincidence. The video was uploaded for the purpose of the Proinnsías Ó Duinn biography which was published today @ www.andtheconductoris.eu. Ó Duinn conducted this piece.

The chorus are the monks of Glenstal Abbey.Because they have go to bed early, it was claimed that 'Lumen' was pre-recorded, but I don't know for sure.
The late Micheál Ó'Súilleabháin and Nóirín Ní Riain worked a lot with them over the years.

I live near the monastery, and you are correct, though only the monks piece was prerecorded
