    I saw Chris at a grocery store in Tokyo once. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
    He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
    I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen bottles of Pocari Sweats in his hands without paying.
    The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
    When she took one of the bottles and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bottle and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

    I met Chris about 4 years ago in Tokyo. While visiting the zoo with my friends, a group of 27 monkeys broke out of their exhibit and started attacking us. Chris appeared out of nowhere, and managed to ward them all off with a single pretzel! He was so cool and also very handsome. He then called me a coward and told me my mother would be ashamed of me before getting on top of a horse and riding off into the sunset.

      I met Chris a few years ago at the train station. I was amazed by how good he looks in person, the camera doesn't do him justice. After my heart calmed down a bit, I went ahead and said hi. He told me that I should talk to his team, and schedule a meeting, because he was too busy at that moment.
      I looked around and saw his team, so I went to talk to them. They didn't speak English very well, but I thought that was normal, we were in Japan after all. I kept repeating words like team, schedule, meeting, sign up, with lots of hand gestures. First they looked at me weird, then they laughed, they made me sign some papers, had me perform a ritual and murder a guy. That was a few years ago, but I still have fun hanging around with Chris' team. I still haven't met him, but I figure that being a Yakuza boss while also having a popular TH-cam channel must keep him very busy.

    I was swept off my feet by the kindness and sincerity of the guy from Abroard in Japan when I was in Sendai. I got into a spot of bother when it came to paying the bill at a ramen restaurant when this ultra sweet guy offered to help translate and paid for my meal after I'd lost my purse. He took me to the local police station to report it, where we found out that someone had handed it in. I was so grateful! He then offered to show me around Sendai and we had a lovely afternoon seeing the sights, having a few drinks and getting to know each other. He was generous, fun and I found him to be really quite handsome. I'll never forget what a fantastic time we had together! His name? Oh yes, it was Ryotoro. ❤

    • @benjaminthut6330
      @benjaminthut6330 3 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      Well, we have a very distinctive accent when we speak English. I don't like to admit it but we do. Our accent is quite different from a native German speaker for instance . I've been living in Australia for about 6 years now and I can always find a Swiss tourist or the ones living here, by hearing the accent ;-). My wife, who is Australian, agrees with me on that one. :-)

    • @DieAlteistwiederda
      @DieAlteistwiederda 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Your accent when speaking English is very different than the German one or the Austrian one so given that Chris is British i would say he probably has come across people from all three countries over the years speaking English to and around him. Or just from watching TH-cam videos where non-native speakers speak English. That's how I learned to differentiate between different Swiss dialects as a German by accident I guess.

    • @ThreadBomb

    I was cycling across Japan a few years ago when the chain on my bike broke. Luckily, Chris happened to ride up shortly afterwards and recommended me to a, "great" bike mechanic. When I picked up my bike from the shop, I noticed it wouldn't change gears anymore so, I was stuck peddling for my life but, barley moving. As I stopped to catch my breath and wonder how I was going to proceed forward with my journey, I heard a sinister British laughing in the distance as if almost to say, "Now I'm not the only one!" It was quite a strange experience.

    I remember the day I met Chris. I was visiting Japan and he knocked into me, I went to confront him but realized he was carrying two babies. Looking at his face, I recognized him, through he was sweaty and covered in soot. I realized behind him was a burning building. He handed the babies off to the mother, presumably.
    I was about to say something, but he saw I had my Chris Abroad merch on (available now) and realized I was a fan and took a quick selfie with me, which was unfortunately destroyed as was the footage for the video he was filming at the time which is why no one ever knew about it. He was then asked by the fire fighters to return to the blaze in order to retrieve more babies. Which he was happy to do. I wish I could have shook his hand.

    Chris: "Someone write fanfic about me."
    Me, cracking my knuckles: "I once saw Connor and Chris at a love hotel on a stormy night, hands intertwined as they stood in the lobby, gently clinging to one another in that subtle way that conveyed both love and resignation to having to hide their relationship. Chris' eyes were warm, kind, but the smile on his face didn't reach his eyes as he listened to Connor protest, quietly, "My mom fucking loves your videos. We might as well just come out of the closet already." World-weary and unable to accept love and unconditional support due to his Britishness, Chris could only sigh and say in reply, "You promised me we'd leave the outside drama at the door. This is supposed to be our night off." I inched away, feeling both deeply sorry for Connor and slightly envious. The camera, after all, really did add 50 pounds, and hide a phenomenal set of muscles underneath his now rain-soaked shirt."

Can't wait to help spill your spaghetti one day by politely asking you some tips on living in Sendai and promising to buy you a beer which you then never claim. STORY TIME:
    I was walking around Shibuya craving pancakes. I didn't know the area I was in that well nor did I know where a good pancake restaurant was, that's when fate happened and I bumped into Chris Broad while walking down an allyway.
    "Sorry, didn't mean to walk into you" I said.
    "It's okay mate. Are you lost or something?" He asked me.
    "Why yes actually. I've never been to this part of Shibuya before. I was wondering where a good pancake restaurant was around here!"
    "Oh well you've found the right person. I know exactly the place to go and they also have great coffee too!"
    "Count me in." I said excitedly.
    Chris then took me to an exceptional pancake restaurant and it was incredible! We had an awesome conversation about life and how much we hate our enemies. He was truly an awesome lad and I've been subscribed to his chanel since then.
