  • More than 100 people are reported to have been killed by security forces in Myanmar, on the deadliest day since last month's military takeover of the country.
A five-year-old was reported to be among the dead along with other children.
Protesters against the military coup had defied warnings from the government that security forces would shoot people in “the head and back”.
There’s been international condemnation of the violence.

@Kelly Smunt How does fighting for democracy or reporting for the protester relate to left/ right politics? And how exactly does fighting for democracy relate to changing sexual orientation? I am very quite puzzled. Do you know what exactly happened in Burma that caused the military coup, how that relates to their history?

Yes cause UN military intervention has gone amazingly in the past. Oh wait, no it hasn’t. if anything just like US intervention, it has made things worse. Let them fight their own war, if they win, their country will be stronger than before, if they lose, then the UN can intervene because when everything is at its worst, at least the UN cant make it any worse. Sad reality but its the only way out as far as we know.

Contrary to popular belief, you can own firearms in the UK. Although I would like to see the laws relaxed. All that gun laws do is restrict the right of law abiding citizens to own weapons legally, for sport and for self defence and home security, and allow criminals who break the law freely anyway to go around with guns regardless. The issue with gun laws is that criminals by definition ignore the law. I'd rather rely on myself for my own defence than a useless, underfunded and overstretched police force like we have in the UK

Hand guns are so uncommon in the UK, I’ve only ever seen one in a museum and never held one. Farmers or those who enjoy shooting pheasant or grouse etc have shotguns, but there are strict laws controlling who can have a licence and how your weapon is stored. Plus the police can just turn up at your house to do a random spot check on the storage of your shotgun and ammunition.

That's because this time, it's a socialist revolution, and because it's socialist - it won't serve the economic interests of British business, so it receives no support, whereas facists (as seen in Yemen) still support the economic interests of Britain, therefore received support.
