new drinking game, drink when the fridge opens! if anything great road test of the hinges lol great Vid keep em coming FYI the miss was yelling at the tv to Shut the bloody fridge lol
I've had my 85l Bushmans for 6yrs Pete, I agree with everything you said! Worth every cent (and there is a few!) but such a great, reliable fridge. We just spent 4 nights freecamping and there was plenty of food and drink storage for both of us. Only con, our door has dropped slightly, does not affect the seal at all. Great fridge, will never go back to a chest fridge. Nailed it mate! Dick
Great Video Pete! I love my Bushman 130L Upright Fridge in my canopy, by far the best fridge I have used. I also changed from a chest type of fridge John a drop down slide, about 18 months ago now and love the upright style better. Keep up the great work mate 👍
Hey mate glad to see you gave it a real work out and cycled those door hinges like you've used the fridge for 5 years. Let's face it when you are smashing beers you will open that door at least 24 times a night
i'm going to watch again and count how many times you opened the fridge door, just coz I can lol. btw, one con, door doesnt stay open lol. cheers, Frank from Syd
back in the day, cans came with 6 pack plastic rings, was always handy to make one into a neck one can holder by cutting out the middle and leaving just one ring, if you get my drift. Frank from Syd, (keen for a hoodie ;))
Sweet review Pete 👍👌😎 I got myself a kings 65L about a year ago which is essentially identical to the bushmans but way cheaper. Its has changed things up a lot and makes it so much easier to access the fridge contents. It uses about double the power than the trusty ol engel chest fridge eclipse 38L but removes the need for the slide so saves a good amount of weight and is heaps better all round. I have done the fan mod on mine because in summer on a 40 degree day it was chewing power like a tesla on fart mode! Honestly mate the fan mod is well worth it because it keeps everything in the fridge at a way more even temp because it circulates the air. I have absolutely no fkn idea why they wouldnt include a fan to start with because it makes that much difference to the overall efficiency and distribution of cool air!! The fridge also doesnt have to cycle as regularly so ultimately you save on power draw too so its a win fkn win chicken for bloody dinner bro! 👌👍😎 I like my temps at 1 to 2 degrees for beers and have mine set in 3 out of 5 (i think) and i reckon yours goes up to 7 so id say you vould drop it back a notch with a fan. The kings also has a digital display and comes with a 5 yr warranty and for $500 im not worried about the warranty really and it has performed flawlessly so far. I also installed rivnuts on the side to mount it securely on top of the drawers with think angle brackets and thats remives the need for an encloaure so the fridge also breathes even better. And again less weight overall. Hope you enjoyed my rant mate 🤣😎😜👍👌 Love youe work Pete keep it up ay 👍👌
I have the kings 85L upright and it definitely burns through the power compared to my old Dometic 50L. Also for us up here in the Alpine Victoria, my one in the colder months has a real problem. Every time it drops below the temp that the fridge is set at, it doesn't cycle all night. So often I'd wake up in the morning when it's still -4 in the morning and the freezer was melted. So not a big deal for fridge items but many times I woke up and my freezer items were melted. I hope Kings fixes that with their new model coming out.
@@4x4Overlanding247 so hard to go past a 5 year warranty mate and i have heard kings warranties are an easy process…you really have me thinking about the fan thing in regards to the cycling. Thanks for the heads up!
Dad must have given me a lot of mental abuse over the fridge.😢 The whole time watching, I was thinking, "Shut the GD fridge, Pete!!!!" 😂😅😂 Oh, the anxiety! It's real.😊 Thanks for the therapy session. Cheers, Pete!🎉

I went from an old battery draining engel 40 chest fridge to a Dometic nrx 80 and I can confirm the massive pro's of an upright fridge. Less floor space was a major pro for me as well as no need for a fridge slide. So there is 20+ kg less weight behind the Dmax rear axle. I didn't go the Bushman but not for any reason, Just place and time I got what I got. However I could have owned one and loved it just as much. Another plus I found is the fridge becomes more interactive during normal life at home and not camping. Being easier to access and use it has become a true third fridge for use in daily life. This review is bang on solid!
Nice overview Pete, I bought can holders from ebay that keep them from sliding all over the place, not many tins coming with the 6 pack holders these days.
@@ShoeysAdventures martin that is so spot on. Im glad i saved a shitload when shelter had the plastic ones. Clever bugger for thinking to grab some from ebay

Love ya work mate, great review either way. Love my upright with the fan mod though I still cannot understand for the life of my why a) they don't some like that standard and b) id love a compact upright with a separate compressor for the freezer. I know it wouldn't be as power efficient but with modern lithium and excellent dc charging, it would be a premium product for a premium 12v system. (Its my inner fisho who wants frozen baits and freezable catch).
Always enjoy your product reviews. Interested to know what issues you had with the Dometic considering you've been suprised about the reliability of the Bushman. Cheers
